Photo Walk Description

2010 was the first year we were approved for an underwater photo “walk.” The tradition continues in 2011, with the walk being moved from Edmonds to Seacrest Cove 2 in West Seattle due to tides. So join us for underwater and land photography at Seacrest.

This year we will spend the afternoon helping with image post processing and up-loading files. After warming up and having a bite to eat at the COve 2 eatery, we are tentatively scheduled to meet at Ocean Optical Sales, 1800 Westlake, on the west side of Lake Union.

  1. Johnathan L says:

Is “underwater” defined as gearing up with SCUBA equipment and chilling with the fishes?

  2. Bella Fritz says:

Can you do just the walk and not “underwater”? I’m not a water person!

  3. Dan Clements says:

@ Johnathan: Yes, there will be a number of us shooting below the water line. There will most likely be a couple of free divers who refer to SCUBA divers as “bubble-blowers.”

@ Bella: Yes to you, also. Last year we had photographers shooting on land, and it was a lot of fun. But wait, how can you not be a water person living in the Pacific Northwest? Heck, there was more rain on land than in the Sound this year!

  4. Alex Cornwall says:

Looking forward to seeing you in the morning, should be a good couple dives!!! Plus it’s dive #98 & 99 for me!!!

  5. Deanna Rose says:

Sad I have to pull out of this walk my young son has a soccer game in Federal Way at 10:15 I need to get him to. I am really bummed I am going to miss it. But hopefully next year.
