Photo Walk Description

Welcome to the 2011 Photo Walk for Saskatoon. I am Scott Prokop and I will by your leader on a this journey through our wonderful university. Architecture from the modern Agriculture building to the classic stone buildings and also farm structures. It will be school season so there will many opportunities to capture students in the wild. You will be free to wander the campus and capture your best shots. If it is raining, well then we will have to seek shelter inside.

Our adventure will start at the Observatory and end with drinks and food at Louis Pub on campus. Visit www.usask.ca/maps for the Campus Map.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Web site seems to have an issue if entering your username and password from last year. However, we got in with a new username.

  2. Kim Schmidt says:

I’ve got it set in my phone. I’ll be there! (PS not too many great walking spots in the city besides the River and the UofS, eh?)

  3. Reg says:

    Scott,

I am unable to get any action out of the green ‘Join this Photowalk tab’. When clicked on it simply reloads the page.

    Help please.

    • Scott Prokop says:

There were some problems with the site today.

      • Valerie Ellis says:

Hi Scott, I hope I am registered okey. A few false starts, but I hope I did it okey. Valerie

      • Reg says:

        Scott,

Page still seems to be reloading on selecting the Join the Walk link. Is this related to the use of IE 8? Map also does not seem to ever finish loading.

Please save me a spot onthe walk until we can resolve the web page issue.

        Thank you.

      • Reg says:

        Scott,

Website still not permitting me to “join the walk”, but would rather re-load the page again.
Are you able to provide me with a work-around for this issue? This is the same problem as occurred on the very 1st photowalk when I was leader for the walk, and it seems the Kelby people have not yet resolved it.
I have tried flushing the browser cache and cookies and have not had any success. (this was the recommended ‘fix’ the year of the first walk)

        Reg

      • Scott Prokop says:

        Reg,
You are still not confirmed for the walk.

  4. Karen Pidskalny says:

Did the walk a few years ago. Actually thought Scott Kelby was going to be there. Haha, how silly. Did enjoy the walk and looking forward to doing this again.

  5. Valerie Ellis says:

I was not able to go last year. I am looking forward to a great outing.

  6. Amy Wildeman says:

    Hi Scott,
I also have tried to register for the walk and the link will not let me. I hope there will be room left for me yet. Let me know. Thanks!

  7. Moira Theede says:

    Hi Scott
Tried yesterday and today to register with no success. (Any help suggestions)
I was on the walk year before last and it was a great experience.
    Cheers
    Moira

  8. Lisa Markosky-Hodgson says:

    Hi Scott,

Just want to double check and make sure I am registered!

    thanks,

    lisa

  9. Jason Finkbeiner says:

Sorry it took me so long to make up my mind. Had to make certain the day was free and I didn’t want to fill a space that someone else could use until I was certain I would be there.

  10. Ivan Gidluck says:

Scott, not sure how to get “unconfirmed” for the walk. I was looking forward to this but I have another obligation that means I can NOT attend.

  11. Reg says:

    Scott,

Still having no success in signing up. Join thiswalk still only reloads the page.IT does not seem to matter what browser I use.

  12. Scott, I have to withdraw from the walk due to some scheduling conflicts. Sorry. How do I go about removing myself from the walk?

  13. Valerie Ellis says:

Hi Scott, I am sorry I am not sure that I registered properly. I will just show up
and follow you around on Sat. Valerie Ellis

    After the Photo Walk

Once your walk is over, walkers will be able to log on to the Worldwide Photo Walk website, go to your walk page, and submit their best photo from the event to the contest. While submitting a photo to the contest is not required, there are lots of great prizes available to the winners!

Walkers (and leaders) can also share photos from their Photo Walk on the Official Worldwide Photo Walk Flickr Group (http://www.flickr.com/groups/wwpw4). Photos from events all around the world will be shared here so the entire community can see the global event they were part of. These photos are not part of the competition, but a great way for everyone to share their experience with the rest of the world.

Walkers will have until 12:00 noon EDT October 7th to submit their best photo to the contest. After that, leaders will have until 12:00 noon EDT October 10th to choose the winning photo from your walk. To choose the winning photo, just log in on the Worldwide Photo Walk website, go to your walk page, and scroll down till you see all of the submitted photos. Click the button underneath the photo you’d like to choose as the winner, then confirm on the window that comes up. And that’s it!
