Photo Walk Description
We will be starting at the magnificent Santa Barbara County Courthouse, built 1926 to 1929. We will meet on the corner of Anacapa St. and W. Anapamu St. There is a coffee shop on the opposite corner if you need a jolt to get you started. We will be able to shoot outside and inside the Courthouse (bring a tripod), as well as from the famous clock tower where you will enjoy a breathtaking 360 degree view of the city. From there we will be walking up Anacapa St. to the Alice Keck Park Memorial Gardens. There you will experience beautiful botanical specimens and a picturesque pond, home to turtles, koi fish, and visiting ducks. From there we will walk back down on Santa Barbara St., past the courthouse again and ending up at the historic El Presidio State Park, an authentic reconstruction of of the original Spanish fort founded in 1782. Finally, we can all relax with food and drink at the Three Pickles restaurant right across the street from the Presidio. There is ample parking in the city parking garage directly across Anacapa St. from the Courthouse and/or at the new city parking garage one half block up on Anacapa St. The walk from the restaurant back to the parking garage is about two and a half blocks. Bring your camera, your smile and get ready to have some fun shooting and meeting fellow photographers who share the passion. Later if you want, you can enter your photos for a chance to win some prizes.

Now, if we only could upload our images – the “walker upload deadline has passed” message is a tad annoying. Wondering why Tech Support can’t seem to be able to resolve the issue.
In any case, a big thank you to Stephen for organizing the walk. I hope that the technical issues will be resolved in time.
Now the “deadline passed” message is gone – but there still is no link to upload an image; frustrating.

Thanks everyone for attending the Santa Barbara Photo Walk. It was great fun for me and I hope you had a good time as well. My sincere apologies for any difficulties you may have encountered trying to upload your photo for the contest. I found the web site experience to be about a 2 on a 1-10 scale. Very poor for people who are supposed to be experienced and web savvy. Maybe they’ll get their act together by next year.
