Photo Walk Description
The Castro – San Francisco.
We will walk along the palm tree lined Market Street to catch a postcard view of The Castro before heading on tho the Pink Triangle Park. From there we’ll travel through the Castro where we will pass the iconic Castro Theater building. After that we will pass through the trolley bus terminal where the historical F-Train carriages terminate before they head back downtown. The remainder of the walk will be through some of the residential streets catching a striking piece of wall art before we return to our starting point. The walk is about 1 mile in total and is flat with gentle inclines.
I’m originally from the UK and have been living in San Francisco for 5 years now and as a full time photographer, I still view the city with the fascination of a tourist. I’m hoping we will have good weather, but this being San Francisco it’s always a good idea to consider layers when dressing. We will review our photos when we finish up at the Squat & Gobble. I really look forward to meeting, walking and capturing great images with you all.

As some of you are aware, it is the Castro Street Fair this Sunday http://www.castrostreetfair.org/
Needless to say some of our walk will meet negotiating through thousands of people coming out to enjoy or take part in the event. Part of our walk will take us through the heart of the fair and you will also have the opportunity to browse and shop too as you capture the many sights that will be unfolding all around you. Once we pass through to the Train terminal, this become much quieter as we pass through the more residential parts before finishing back at the tail area of the fair.
After the walk is over, remember to submit your best pictures for a chance to win a copy of Scott Kelby’s Light It, Shoot It, Retouch It Book. The winner of the book will also have their photo sent on to compete for the Grand Prize.
