Photo Walk Description

I’m really looking forward to this year’s PhotoWalk! Sunset that day is 7:20pm so the light will probably be really good during this window of time.

Make sure you bring plenty of water to keep hydrated. More details and tips will be added soon.

  • Website Map Problems and General Plans

The map on here is all wonky. I wouldn’t pay much attention to it. I’m planning to start at the Alamo, walk over towards Main Plaza and the Cathedral and then walk back. Everyone does NOT have to follow the exact same path. Frankly, anyone seeing 50 people (like us) with lots of photo gear would probably get nervous so I’m counting on us not all being together at the same time! The idea is to meet new friends, have fun walking around, take good shots, chimp pictures over a hamburger and make plans to meet together on a more regular basis.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. I’m really excited for next week!

  • Dinner Reservations and Walk Plans

I spoke with Fuddruckers (by the Alamo) today and have secured a spot for 50 of us to have dinner and/or drinks after the walk. I plan to arrive at the start location at around 5:30pm in hopes that we can start walking right at 6pm. I’m looking forward to meeting all of you on Saturday evening!

Sounds great. I’ve been to the last two and really enjoyed them both.

  2. Lynne Allan says:

Looking forward to this! I have read about past walks and am excited to participate this year. :-)

  3. Donna Kirby says:

Can’t wait – this will be my first walk. are Any of the “walkers” attending Photoshop World in Vegas this year? Be great to meet up there. If not see you in oct.

  4. Peter Florczak says:

I am signed up for the walk on Sat. i was wondering if I can transfer to sign up for Sunday instead. I have a possible conflct on Sat.

    • Chuck Barksdale says:

Peter, sorry to hear you may have a conflict with Saturday. When I registered to be a leader I had to choose a specific date/time. Since I really wanted to schedule this for evening time I decided that Saturday would be easier. And as Miles pointed out, they won’t open another group until this one is filled. I hope you can make it after all and barring that I hope we get a full crowd so a Sunday slot can be opened.

      • Peter Florczak says:

Thanks for the heads up. I have rearranged my schedule so that I can make it. I am looking forward to it.

  5. Miles Erwin says:

Peter, I have applied for leader of a Sunday walk. The response is that they will not open another one in the area while this one has open spots. My wedding reception is the 1st. If you would still like to be in on one… email me. milomacintosh@rocketmail.com

  6. Jill Brunks says:

I wasn’t able to participate in a walk last year and am glad that I will be able to participate in one this year. I love San Antonio and can’t wait to see it through other photographer’s eyes.

  7. Chuck Barksdale says:

It’s exciting to see we have 20 walkers already. I’d love for us to hit the maximum of 50 so make sure and tell all your photo friends! As you know, “The more, the merrier!” :-)

  8. Navyanth Gowda says:

This will be first Photowalk in USA. Hoping to have good time with all of you.

Kim, I’m showing you registered two times. If this is a mistake please let me know so I can delete one and make a little more room on our roster. Thanks!
