Photo Walk Description

Note: The Official Worldwide Photo Walk Date is July 24th, 2010

This is a country walk through Ballinrush Estate, with stunning views, wildlife, woods, old cottages, machinery, descending to Lough Dan Lake shore,beach and cliffs. Approx 4.5km down and then 4.5 km back. Rarely available for photography. The approximate time will be about 2 hrs and then allow 1.5 hrs back up hilly road. The start location is at the Ballinrush Pier Gate, just before Luggala Entrance, on R759. the walk is open to any level of Photographer.

I have been interested in photography most of my life, and have lived in this area for a long time and know it well. I have been a member of NAPP for over 10 years. I own a Nikon D200 with two lenses, which I use for taking photographs for both personal use and in my web design business. I am particularly interested in the environment and capturing its history and heritage.

Depending on the day you may need to cater for the Irish weather, but hopefully it will be a good summers day. Be prepared to walk along a ‘Boreen’ road – good walking shoes would be useful. Other than that it should be very enjoyable and interesting.

    Weather looks like it will be fine in afternoon, even if morning is likely to be showery. Welcome Niall, great to have someone else. We just need a few more for a party!
