Photo Walk Description
Note: The Official Worldwide Photo Walk Date is July 24th, 2010
In response from last year’s photowalk, we will be returning to Virginia City, for a sunset shoot. The walk will be spilt into two different groups. The first will be a guided walk around the major locations of Virginia City. So many people wanted a tour last year and I have one planned for this years walk. The second group will be for those shooters who want to roam on their own. If that group is so inclined, they can participate in a photo walk scavanger hunt. More details on that during the day of the shoot.
If you wish to car pool to Virginia City, I will meet you in the parking lot of the UNR Redfield campus, near Galena High School, at 4:45 and plan to leave at 5:00 pm, sharp.
It seems more than a little unfair to call this the Reno Photo Walk when you’re actually going to Virginia City! What about folks who would REALLY like to walk Reno and take photos? There are so many wonderful locations.

I completely understand you comments. I ran a walk in Downtown Reno the first year with limited success and a general luke warm response. The most common request for the following year was to move to someplace like Virginia City.
We did the Virginia City location last year, and everyone loved it. I am returning to that location because of the response and the ease of shooting in that location.
Google Maps considers Virginia City to be Reno, and I tag it as Reno for the ease of fining the walk on this site, nothing more.
I encourage you to host your own walk and hold it in Reno. I am sure there are many other photographers, like yourself, who want to do a walk in that area.
