About This Walk
We are starting our walk early to have the best light and best chance of seeing some local wildlife. We’ll head down the Sacramento River Trail towards the 44 Bridge. There will be chances to see birds and other wildlife as well encountering early morning joggers and cyclists. Along the walk are stopping places with benches if needed and some scenic spots to capture various images. As the trail circles around we’ll come to the path next to 44 and the construction zone for the new hotel. As near the finish of our walk we’ll see plenty of people out to enjoy Bridge and surrounding area. Here you’ll have a chance for some people photos if you desire. We will finish at the Turtle Bay Coffee Shop were we can enjoy a cold (or hot) drink visit before heading our separate ways.
This easy walk is a little over a mile in length with no real elevation changes. We’ll be taking a leisurely pace so we hope to see all ages. The only 2 cautions are to watch out for biker riders on the river trail and when we return to the road we’ll have to cross to the far side due to construction. Remember to bring water.
This will be the 8th Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk that I’ve led in Redding. The first couple of years we walked the Redding downtown but that is not so pleasant anymore so we’ve moved to the River. While the Redding walk is not the biggest in the world we always have fun so we hope to see you there.
