Photo Walk Description

Please join me for a sunrise shoot at Nauset Beach in Orleans, MA along the shore of Cape Cod. We’ll leave the Hot Chocolate Sparrow promptly at 6am to drive down to Nauset Beach for the sunrise. Bring a tripod for slow shutter speed shooting, along with neutral density or graduated filters for nice, blurry water. The brave among us can go for a swim, or model their autumn swimwear. If you have a surfer friend they might get some TFP photos of themselves as well. At around 8am we’ll head back to the Sparrow for hot chocolate and some breakfast and good cheer. Or, of course, you could head off to another PhotoWalk later in the day!

While I live in Maryland, I’ve been shooting on the Cape for many years. I teach photography and edit my local camera club’s newsletter. You can see my work at www.davidmullenphoto.com (click on the Cape Cod link). I look forward to meeting you!

Looking forward to next Saturday morning! Invite your friends to sign up to shoot, or to model if they’d like. Surfers also welcome!

Less than a week to go! Tip: Try to bring a tripod, as it will be pretty dark for the first hour of shooting.

  4. Dave Mullen says:

Another tip: Play with your timer or remote release this week, as that can minimize your shutter finger causing blur, even on the tripod, when you’re making an exposure.

Two more days… weather is iffy… bring an umbrella, wrap camera in a plastic bag to keep electronics dry! A neutral density filter is also a nice thing to bring to blur the incoming waves once the sun has risen. If we have a cloudy morning be prepared to shoot details along the beach… washed up seaweed, shells, perhaps other more interesting items. If you have a surfer or model friend invite them to join us! See you Saturday in the parking lot of the Hot Chocolate Sparrow!
