WELCOME ALL:
No experience needed! All you need is a passion for photography and a digital camera – a simple point-and-shoot or a big DSLR. As long as you’re enthusiastic about photography and the sites in our town you’ll have a great walk. This is my first year participating in this Photo Walk and I’m looking forward to meeting and learning from other local photographers and enthusiasts. Autumn in Oakville is so beautiful, I know we’ll all be thrilled with the results! The leaves are starting to change and I’m sure there will be some brilliant shots captured.

REGISTER:
Be sure to register if you want to join in. (Click on the green “Join this Walk” button above the map ^ up there.) We’re limited to 50 participants!

GROUP PHOTO:
We’d like to get a group photo before the walk. Please be at the benches by 8:45AM so we can get the photo taken and a prompt start to our Photo Walk at 9:00AM.

LOCATION:
Starting from Town Square (Lakeshore Road and George Street), the walk will take in some of the downtown sites, a walk along the water (lake and creek), then behind the library and back up the hill at Water Street then over to O’Finn’s Irish Temper (136 Church Street – at Navy. There should be plenty of interesting shots and angles – of people and places – taking in much of the charm Oakville has to offer. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes!

AFTER THE WALK:
We are welcome over at O’Finn’s Irish Temper for those who want to eat and talk about the walk – and show off your photos! Anyone who has been to O’Finn’s will know that it is charming and has great food. Not necessarily conducive to a large group at one table, but we can break out into small groups and still have a lot of fun. I’ve reserved space for all 25 participants (so far!).

CHALLENGE:
One “best” photo of the day will win a copy of Scott Kelby’s most recent book – Light It, Shoot It, Retouch It – and will also be in the running for the Grand Prize! So, be sure to choose your best image and submit it! All photos must be submitted to me (linarstudio.lc at gmail dot com) by midnight on October 1st and the winner of our Oakville group will be submitted to the Scott Kelby group for consideration to win the GRAND PRIZE!

RAIN DATE:
If it’s raining (buckets) on the day of our Photo Walk our alternate date is Sunday, October 2 from 9AM to 11AM.

LIFE GETS IN THE WAY:
If you can’t attend the walk, please be sure to remove yourself from the walk in case someone is waiting on standby.
