Photo Walk Description

This walk takes in both the new Nottingham city and the old. My hope is that we will have a range of photographic subjects to cover from street, architecture and some landscape photography too.

Starting out at the Old Market square we will travel up to Trinity sq via Kings walk. This is a good opportunity to capture people in a trendy setting. Then head down Lower parliment st to the older part of town and head past the Old Angel pub on the way to St Mary’s church. From there we head past the lace market theatre and onto Middle hill going past the Broadmarsh bus station and near the tram terminus.

From there we’ll head down Castle boulevard going past Nottingham castle, giving views of the hill. We will then head down Peveril Drive and round the castle grounds onto Lenton Rd. From there we will go onto St Jame’s terrace and onto Park Row. Crossing Maid Marian way onto Mount St we will head down Long Row West briefly passing the market square again as we take in the more commercial part of the city. From there we’ll head down Maid Marian way to past Ye Olde Salutation Inn.

We will then go down Castle gate and Castle Rd past the famous Robin Hood statue and arrive at our destination, Ye olde trip to Jerusalem.

  • Hi and welcome

    Hi,
My name is Matt and I’ll be your photowalk leader for the 1st of October.
So who am I? I’m a photographer of many years and a photo event organiser in the Nottingham and Derby area.
I’ve organised/lead 5 very successful events over the course of this year and this walk will be my sixth and most ambitious yet.
Being a part of something global has a fantastic feeling of community about it and I’m honoured that Scott’s team have allowed me the opportunity to be a part of it.

On the day, I’ll be wearing what I call my shooting hat, its actually just a postboy cap I wear backwards but shhh don’t tell anyone, it’ll be our little secret. You’ll spot me a mile off anyway as I’m just that kinda person you notice.

As for the event itself, I’ve encorparated a variety of locations and styles of photography into the walk so there’ll be something for everyone.
Any questions, just ask away and I’ll be more than happy to help out.
Cheers and see you on the day.
    Matt
