Photo Walk Description

Note: The Official Worldwide Photo Walk Date is July 24th, 2010

The walk will take us through Northwich then along the canal towards the Anderton Boat lift. It’s going to be a relaxed wander taking in the architecture, the canal and hopefully some wildlife around Northwich.
Ignore the route Google Maps seems to have chosen, it won’t let me use footpaths, but the route takes us from Northwich town centre, along the canal on flat track until we come to a bridge over the canal/river. Then we go left towards the Anderton Boat Lift which is quite an engineering project. Very close to the boat lift is a pub, the Stanley Arms where we can get refreshments and have a chat and compare pictures.
Then it’s a walk back along the same route to Northwich. There are plenty of photography opportunities from the views over the canal to the industrial areas. Hopefully a bit of wildlife will show it’s face too.

As for what lenses to bring, I wouldn’t go for anything too long, maybe a 70-300 or similar and maybe a wider angle lens for the more landscapey type shots. Bring a tripod if you want but I don’t think you’ll need it. Trainers or sturdy shoes would be preferable but it’s not too hard going. If it has rained then walking boots might be an option.

There is lots of car parking off Barons Quay Rd if you are coming in by car.

See you all on Saturday 24th July!
