Photo Walk Description

Because of its history and the variety of subjects and photo ops, the area around the Balboa Fun Zone is a wonderful place to shoot. We’ll start by meeting at the Ferris wheel, then slowly work our way around the Fun Zone to the Balboa Pavilion, then out to the pier and back, shooting all the way. After we’ll gather at the nearby Balboa Saloon, and there we’ll be able to continue networking with our fellow photographers and extend the fun.

I’m a photography instructor, author and local and international photo tour guide, and I live in this area so I know it well. Feel free to visit [and subscribe to] my award-winning blog at http://www.RalphVelasco.com…it was recently selected one of the “11 Best New Travel Blogs of 2011″ by National Geographic Traveler writer and consumer advocate Christopher Elliott.

Now let’s get out and shoot!

Are we able to register for a Saturday and Sunday walk? I noticed the system won’t let me. It’s tough deciding between Balboa and Crystal Cove..

    Thank you

    • Sorry, Bryan, I’m just seeing this message now as I’m in Mexico on assignment. I don’t know if it will let you register for both days, probably not, but perhaps try contacting WWPW directly, thanks.

    • Carolyn Conner says:

I read somewhere that it would be allowed, but I can’t remember where. It is not allowing it right now though because I just tried it!

Oh yeah, I know. I got quite a few great photo’s of it at last year’s walk. It will be sad to see it go.

I haven’t decided if I’ll join this year’s walk yet.

    • Hi Ruben,

As the walk gets nearer I’ll be contacting everyone with a few more details, but otherwise it’s pretty straight forward, please just show up on the date and time posted and let’s get out and shoot!
