Photo Walk Description

Want to get out of the city for a photowalk? Cascade Springs in October is absolutely beautiful. The fall colors are starting to be in full bloom and offer breathtaking views.

Cascade Springs is a naturally occurring spring. It is a around a 1/2 mile walking tour only, with a lot of it on wooden planks over the water itself. Small waterfalls, fish, and flora and fauna galore. A set of stone steps, a small bridge, and pathways offer many different photo opportunities.

I would like to meet at the north parking lot, the south parking lot is smaller. However, the south parking lot is where the bathrooms are located.

From the north parking lot, it is a little hike on pavement to decend into the springs. While not terribly steep, it is not flat. Keep that in mind if you have problems with inclines.

From the south parking lot there is still a decent into the springs, however it is much shorter, this may be a great alternative for those who prefer not to walk the incline from the north parking lot.

Since we will be on 4 foot wide planks for most of the walk, please be considerate of those around you. Setting up a tripod to capture some buttery smooth waterfall shots requires constant attention to those around you.

The tempurature should range from the mid sixties to the mid seventies, but we will be in a canyon so plan your attire accordingly.

And since we are in a canyon, there isn’t a restaurant close. So after the walk, I will have a gas bbq grill available so that we can “tailgate” in the parking lot and show off the photos we just took. Please bring whatever food you’d like to enjoy and/or share. You are not required to stay for this, but why not be sociable with the new friends you just made!

Here is a link describing the area with directions on how to get there.

Because of the unstable weather in Utah, keep an eye on this page for updates and changes.

This should be a great time of year. We did a quick family portrait here a couple years back in October and it was beautiful.

Does anyone have any questions so far?
