Photo Walk Description

Hi folks

Join me for a post-Grand Final Day stroll with like-minded people, around Vic Market / North Melbourne with our cameras.
The time’s set for late afternoon/sunset (**remember that Daylight Savings starts on THIS day!**). We’ll start at the Vic Market as it’s packing up, and head towards North Melbourne’s heart, Errol Street which is always vibrant and full of interest, with plenty of great photo opportunities. There’s plenty of public transport access nearby!
It’s a great area of Melbourne – the hard part will be working out what not to shoot!

The Walk will conclude at an eatery in Errol Street (exact location still being confirmed) – just as the sun has set. Photographers of any age and experience are welcome – one of the goals is to meet and learn from each other whilst enjoying an afternoon’s stroll/photography.

If you’re interested, please sign up!

Cheers! Paul

ps Once you’ve signed up – please keep checking back here, for updates.

I’ll also post answers to questions I receive.

    Leader News & Updates

  • (Probably) The final update

    Hi again folks.

Good news: Weather’s looking good. Bad news: the market actually closes at 4pm (not 5pm as I had suggested).

The walk will still go ahead as planned, departing form 5pm (remember that it’s the first day of daylight savings) – as mentioned previously, feel free to arrive earlier in the afternoon if you are keen on some Market pics.
I will provide a route on the day – the map on this site is not exact. I can’t modify what’s there unfortunately.
I am planning a ‘half way’ group photo around 6pm – details at the start.
The final destination is ‘Agraba’: http://www.agraba.com.au/. From 7pm.

    Remember to bring:
    - your camera
    - batteries fully charged
    - enough film/memory cards to see you through
    - water bottle
    - comfortable shoes!
    - wet weather gear if the forecast is wrong
    - a friendly disposition (even if your team loses the Grand Final)
    - a willingness to meet others and have fun!

    See you then.
    Cheers

  • One week to go...

Hi folks, only one week to go and fingers-crossed that the weather is a repeat of this weekend’s fine conditions.
The final route to be provided on the day.
If you wish to get photos of the market in action (rather than the packing up phase), please feel free to wander around earlier … just make sure you are at the meeting point at 5pm so we can meet each other and all head off together.
    Cheers, Paul

i would love to go to this one, but I’m 16 and not aloud to take public transport to go home late and dinner wouldnt finnish till 9pm so thats out of the question for me :( sorry maybe next one. have fun.

    • Paul Grinzi says:

Matthew, the main focus in the walk (the final destination is a chance to chat afterwards, but certainly isn’t compulsory) and we will finish walking before it gets dark.

  2. Anna Small says:

I’ve signed up, Paul – sounds great! Won’t be able to make dinner but looking forward to the walk.

  3. Leigh-anne Redmond says:

I’ve signed up Paul and am looking forward to it.

  4. Tim Wilson says:

Sounds good – look forward to it!

  5. Deborah says:

I have tried to sign up but keep getting this error “Please enter captcha information”. What have I done wrong? Thanks

    • Paul Grinzi says:

Don’t panic yet – plenty of spots still available. Deborah, the ‘captcha information’ is the is the box with the oddly shaped words. You need to type these words in the relevant area to complete the submission forms.

This is a tool to help prevent spamming.
Any further issues, flick me a message (‘contact leader’, above).
      Cheers, Paul

      • Deborah says:

Thanks Paul – for some reason this doesn’t show up on my computer. So I tried another and it all worked fine.

        Thanks Deb

  12. Alex Megremis says:

Sorry, I have to bail out.

My camera got killed quite badly in the Wednesday storm. It’s in for repairs.

    :(

  13. Deborah says:

    Hi Paul
I’ve come down with a cold and so will not be able to join you tonight. Hope it all goes well.

  14. Andrew Morley says:

Cant seem to be able to upload photos it says

    “Walker Upload Deadline Passed”

    • Paul Grinzi says:

      I can’t explain that Andrew.
On my, ‘walk leader’ page, it says:
“Walkers will not be able to view uploaded images until after the walker photo submit deadline has passed”.

If you are having continuing issues – all I can suggest is emailing the link at the bottom of the FAQs page.

  15. Paul Grinzi says:

    Andrew et al,
the deadlione has been extended to the 10th Oct (midday US’ EDT).
There were some website issues – should be good to go.
