Photo Walk Description

Our walk will cover two parks (Alba Park and Virginia Vogel Park in front of the Craterian), Downtown Medford, City Hall, Jackson County Library and RCC campus as well as along the tracks and Medford “Oldtown”. There will be a lot of opportunity for spontaneous shooting with modern architecture, Old world brick buildings, Local shops, rustic alley-ways, parking structures and what ever else your eye catches!

I’ll do a little refining to the route after I measure it out to make sure I don’t tire us all out. The restaurant we’ll end up at is ready for our hungry & thirsty bodies to arrive. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and socks, check the weather as you head on over. Directly across from our starting point is Mellelo’s Coffee Shop, show up early if you want to grab a beverage before the walk. I’m excited about this walk and look forward to meeting all of you. Please feel free to ask me any questions you might have.

Also, the map feature above was not cooperating with me fully. I’ll get a more detailed map available soon. And remember, ANY camera will do. This walk is for beginners, amateurs and pros alike.

    After the walk you will have until October 7th to select one image and submit it on the Worldwide Photo Walk web site. The tools to do so should be in your account after this weekend. We also have a flickr.com group and it would be awesome if each of you posted your images for all to see. You can create a free account at flickr.com or if you alrady have a Yohoo account, you can use that.

  • Timeline Reminder

    Just a quick reminder that the walk will start shortly after 10:00am. I encourage people to show up prior to 10:00 so nobody is left behind. There is also a coffee shop at that start (Mellelo’s) and I have confirmed that they are open, but they are short staffed on Saturdays… coffee lovers may want to show up earlier if you plan to get a coffee there. Remember comfy shoes! I’ve been watching the weather and today reports a 40% chance of rain but not a strong chance. I recommend you come prepared for a possible light drizzle. If any of you plan on networking or end up making a new friend, remember to bring business cards to hand out. See you all in the morning!

    Greetings walkers, I hope you are all as excited as I am about the walk next weekend. I’ve finalized the route and have a PDF for everyone posted online for download.

    We’re right at 14 walkers and room for 36 more. If any of you have familiy, friends or co-workers who might enjoy this opportunity, please pass on the information.

    Be prepared to pay for your own meal after the walk. They failed to tell us this before the photo walk in Ashland last summer.

      Good Point! Thank you. Yes, the restaurant location is simply a place to rest and share photos with fellow Photographers. Each attendee will be responsible for their own bill.
