Photo Walk Description

Photo-walking in the walled-city of Intramuros three years in a row… and we’re on our fourth! Time flies. But not the freezed memories in those multitude of photographs snapped through by hobbyists and pros alike. As in previous years, the event will be fun-filled with your participation and sharing as we walk through historical Intramuros.

  • We Made It!

    I got to say my four (4) “Congratulation!” s.

    First, I congratulate the participants who made it to our photowalk despite the typhoon ón the day of our event October 1.

    Second, congratulations to the NINE (9) participants who dared to submit their photo entries to this photowalk DESPITE the limitations posed by Typhoon Pedring.

    Third, congratulations to RJ Palad, whose submitted photo won my vote for representing our Intramuros Leg to Scott Kelby’s Photowalk Worldwide.

    …and lastly…dundurundundundun! (drums beating!)…congratulations again to RJ Palad for the same photo in winning Scott’s vote for being the “Best Shot That Tells A Story” category.

    Yeeeehah!!!! yeba-yeba!!!

  • A Little Different

    While the southwest monsoon rains blew its way in the afternoon of our photowalk, it failed to dump the enthusiasm of 14 brave souls who showed-up at the lobby of Casa Rocha last Saturday. Shooting was not the same challenge as it used to because of the discomfort of wetness. But the turbulent weather gave a new dimension, with the virtue of patience getting into the mix, to street photography. My Dicapak waterproof case that secured my gear did not make sense in that weather, having to wipe-dry non-stop its front lens from raindrops – while others played cat-and-mouse, hide-and-seek with mother nature. It was a whole afternoon of incredibly different experience. And we laughed it off later as we gathered for snacks back in the warmth of Casa Rocha.

    According to the weather bureau, Metro Manila will not be directly hit by typhoon Quiel but rains brought by the southwest monsoon are expected by this Saturday afternoon. Bring your umbrellas and camera rain-gear because rain or shine, the photowalk is pushing through.

  • Photowalk Permit Approved

    The Intramuros Administration (IA) has approved our photowalk permit for Oct. 1, 2011. Upon registration at the reception, participants will be given a copy of the permit that may be presented to Intramuros guards in case they seek for it. Registration opens at 3PM inside Casa Rocha (Lobby) and walk starts at 3:30PM.

    guys, as per the FAQs, only one entry is allowed per person entering the contest. you may upload more than one in the official Flickr page of the Photowalk, but you can only have ONE entry for the contest. FYI.

      also, check out the page of last year’s winning photos… none of them have any watermarks in them… :p
