Photo Walk Description
The PBC Photo Walkers are excited to announce this year’s Worldwide Photo Walk! This year we will meet at Lion Country Safari in Loxahatchee. The official walk is from 10-12, with lunch from 12-1, and here’s the plan:
-The ticket booth opens at 9:30. I will give the name of everyone who has rsvpd & paid in advance (more about cost below) and that will get you through the gate.
-BEFORE the safari drive-through you’ll make a left turn and look for the pavilion on the left hand side. Park and get to the pavilion by 10:00, where we will meet as a group before the official meetup starts.
-At this time, we will group up if people are interested and get back in our vehicles and drive through the safari. I’m hoping people will come in their bigger cars/suvs and we can fit a bunch of people in each vehicle, instead of all 50 of us driving through alone. Keep in mind that LCS has pretty strict rules about opening windows (especially near the lions, which I learned the hard way!) but all along the roads there is plenty of place to pull over to take pictures for as long as you want.
-After the drive-through safari, everyone should just park back in the parking lot and walk around the rest of the park. I will send more information about specific things to see & do as the event gets closer.
-At noon we will meet back at the pavilion and we will be served a buffet lunch (burgers, dogs, salads & drinks). At this time, we will likely enjoy looking at our pictures. ![]()
-Everyone is welcome to stay all day to enjoy the park (and all photos taken at LCS throughout the day will be eligible for the contest). The park closes at 5:30.
-I’m working with the event & marketing coordinator at LCS to come up with something fun for our group (maybe a photo contest). Details to follow.
-Note, this might be a good time to rent a nice big lens for the weekend! I may try the 100-400 again.
ADMISSION:
-The cost of regular admission is $26.50 + tax (total of about $28) but since we’re part of a group, for another few dollars we will get a buffet lunch and use of the events pavilion.
-Here is the important part:
YOU MUST PAY IN ADVANCE in our meetup group, PBC Photo Walkers (www.meetup.com/PBC-Photo-Walkers). If you’re not already a member, it’s quick & free to sign up. Payment is made right through the site and it goes through Pay Pal.
As usual, I look forward to seeing my good friends and meeting new ones. Our group is very friendly and diverse and everyone is welcome.

Tammy~
I got through the WWPW sign up but as yet have not found the proper door to pay and secure my spot. Any directions?
Nikki
Hi Nikki! You are signed up “officially” with the WWPW site but you need to go to the PBC Photo Walkers meetup site to pay.
Looking forward to seeing you again. It’s been way too long!
I had trouble with the sign in…how do I know I’m on the list.
Sorry for the delay. I do see you on the list Norma, and I have your payment. Thanks!
Hi Tammy, I know that Im paid, but not clear on if I have anything else to do…to be pat…
Hi Tammy,
Having problems uploading. Tried repeatedly, image is properly resized. Loads into the box and then disappears when I press upload. Any clue?
Julio
Julio, I had problems too, maybe the same thing is happening to you.
Look at the photo specs closely. The file size cannot exceed 1MB. Maybe that’s the problem. Once I re-saved my photo at .5MB, it uploaded fine. You’ll get a screen showing your photo upon successful upload & whether you want to accept it or not. Good luck!
Tammy, am I missing something? I just uploaded my photo & would like to see other submissions. Where is the link to our group’s photo page? Or is it for the group leader’s eyes only? Maybe it’s also because I had my eyes dilated today for an eye exam & I’m still seeing blurry.
