Photo Walk Description

Last years walk was quite hot and humid, I suspect it to be MUCH cooler this year. The walk will coincide with the city’s “Lowell Open Studios”. We will meet at Western Avenue Studios (WAS); from there I will escort you to several local historic sites. Past experience tells me others may want to wander Lowell on their own and take advantage of the free shuttle bus leaving from WAS to several locations in the city. Feel free to arrive early and take advantage of WAS’s free and ample parking. WAS and many other studios will be open from 11 to 5.

Dress for the weather and bring an extra bottle of water.

Lowell National History Park
“The early story of America’s Industrial Revolution is commemorated at Lowell National Historical Park in the midst of this lively city. The Park offers visitors an in-depth look into the past that brought the 19th century textile industry to tap the waterpower of the Merrimack River while also revealing cultural connections to the present and visions for the future.”

I want to thank those who braved the damp weather to come on the Lowell walk. I hope you had a good time. Thank you for the entries, they were all great and I have sent one on to the grand prize contest.
