Photo Walk Description
While a smaller area, the views are gorgeous, and makes for a nice walk around. It’s about a mile all the way around, so this lets you loop twice to catch things on both sides, as well as views of the lake itself. There’s fishing, so people will likely be there, and I have read reports where prairie dogs and other wild animals (nothing too dangerous) are present. Fall foliage will be close, so some opportunities for good photography there as well.
Will scout over the next week or so to get additional details and a few sample photos.
Wow, perfect time (not at sunrise or in the evening), and at a cool location I didn’t even know about, and with someone I kind of know to boot. This should be fun!

Hey all,
Sorry not updated this sooner. I got a chance to do some scouting around and it really is a nice walk – it took my wife and I about 30 minutes to slow walk around it. So, with stopping to photograph, 45 minutes to an hour to make it around the loop.
There’s boaters in the morning that take their RC boats out – some nice photo opps there. The trail splits into two, one for walkers and one for bikers, so if you set up, some nice action shots might be possible there too. The colors will be awesome for the trees that are interspersed around the lake. I’m in the process of uploading photos here shortly that I took this evening to give you a better idea of what all is available.
There’s also a nice bridge and some fishermen (and women) types out there too for other types of opportunities!

What a great photo walk! People fishing, sailing boats, walking the shoreline, socializing and getting to meet new people! It was a blast, and thanks to everyone for making the effort to come out and contribute to the group!
So, here’s the deal with sharing and submitting photos. In order to be eligible to win the book from Scott kelby, you have to be registered on the Worldwide Photo Walk website (this site)
If you’re not registered, you can’t submit photos, and if you can’t submit photos, you can’t win…
I would imagine the deadline to get your photos submitted will be about two weeks out, so you have some time to sort through your images. There is no theme restriction or anything on post production – it’s the best photo you have! Note, that I just said the best photo you have – you can only enter one photo on the Worldwide Photo Walk site.

I just sent you an email on this too Gladys – there’s a green button about halfway down this page (just above the map) that says “Join this Walk”. That’s how to register.
It’s pretty straightforward from there….

October 7 Deadline for walkers to submit photo (12pm EDT)
October 10 Leaders select winning photos by 12pm EDT
October 17 Honorable Mentions and Grand Prize winners
October 17 People’s Choice Voting opens
October 24 All Voting Closes 12pm EDT
I just uploaded my photo. Does it have my name next to it or anything? Also, it said I had till the 10th to upload/remove photos.
I don’t know whose is whose….that was kind of the point in not chimping with the rest at Starbucks, so there’s no bias for or against anyone. I see a bunch of photos in here, but have no idea who shot what (all great shots though…very hard to choose!)
