Photo Walk Description

Last year we had a wonderful photo walk in downtown Los Gatos. We’ll still be touring the downtown area again this year but our route will be a slightly different and provide great photo ops of this picturesque town nestled in the Santa Cruz Foothills. The walk begins in front of town hall at 8:45 AM with a quick briefing followed by a group photo and the actual walk starting at 9AM. Members of the Los Gatos-Saratoga Camera Club assisted and participated in the walk last year and will hopefully do so again in October. Our route will include some varying terrain so be sure to wear good footwear. When the walk concludes around 11AM, plan on meeting at the Purple Onion Cafe for some excellent food and pastry and wonderful coffee. We’ll recap the walk and share stories and images of the morning tour. Last year’s event was completely full so plan accordingly — register early. I’m Looking forward to seeing you at the 2011 WWPW.     Honorable Mentions go to Cedric Bennett-Glass Pumpkin, Sumedh Shirodkar-Two Leaves on Roadway and Jordan Li (our youngest contestant at 4 years old)-LAdder and Light. Special thanks to our judge, Bernie Weinzimmer from the Los Gatos Saratoga Camera Club (http://bernieweinzimmerphotography.com), the Puprle Onion, the Town of Los Gatos and of course the fine folks at Scott Kelby Factory in Florida for hosting the event.     I thought you might enjoy seeing the winning image from our group at last year’s walk. Our group had some excellent submittals but the image by by Keith Schwamkrug really stood out. I hope this will help inspire you for the October 1 walk.

    How can I sign up if I cannot change last year’s password, which I cannot remember. There seems to be no options for accessing last year’s info and the site will not allow me to re-apply since my email account is already recognized.

    Any suggestions as to how to apply this year?

    I see we have 25 persons registered for our event on October 1 with a limit of 50 persons. So the question of the day is, is the walk half full or half empty?
