Where We Will Meet

Outside Marks and Spencer on the railway station concourse

Where The Walk Will End

At the Barrowboy and Banker pub, Borough Market

About This Walk

This walk will start from London Waterloo Station, meeting outside Marks and Spencer on the station Concourse at the far left end of the station (standing the the platforms behind you). We will then move down to the Southbank and then walk along the Southbank taking in the sights on the way. We should get opportunities for street photography, architecture, cityscapes, reflections, nature, indoor low-light activity and street performers. On the way there is the chance to go in to the Tate gallery and go to the top floor for panoramic views of London. This is free to do but there are normally quite long queues for the lift. I will provide a checklist when you check in to the walk with suggested spots to stop for a drink or toilet break as well as expected times of arrival and departure at key points on the route. At the end of the walk we will be in Borough Market so great opportunities for market photography and street photography there too. At the conclusion, you are welcome to join me for a drink in the Barrowboy and Banker pub – if you join their mailing list by the way you can get a voucher for a free drink – suggest you do that now to allow time for the voucher to arrive. They also do excellent food reasonably priced if you have managed to resist the delights of the food in Borough Market.

My background is as a lifelong fascination in photography – firstly as an amateur photographer then moving through entering and winning competitions and then on to being a contributor to many photographic magazines with images and articles. I also worked for 3 years for a sports picture agency photographing Premier League football and had many images used in the national papers. I currently work as a freelance photographer and in association with Park Cameras as a trainer and leader of photo walks. Please don’t hesitate to ask me on camera settings or for picture ideas during the walk and before we start I will give you all  a few tips and ideas which should help too. I will email everyone a few days before the walk with meeting instructions, suggested gear to bring and my contact details.

Worldwide Photo Walk tomorrowOctober 6th, 2017

Just a reminder you are registered for the Worldwide Photo Walk tomorrow – meeting at waterloo Station concourse by Marks and Spencer at 10.30am. I will be wearing a green coat and have a blue camera bag. If you are not now attending can you please de-register on the walk site – I will need to tick you off the list if you want to enter the competition!
Look forward to meeting you’ll in the morning – bring a coat – some of the walk will be inside so we should get some great shots even if the weather is poor.
