Photo Walk Description

we’re all set for Sunday October 2 at Port Grand food street, Karachi Port area. The location offers spectacular views of the Sea, Port and the vivid colors as the time of Sunset. After the Sunset , night time lit up Port Area will again offer a good opportunity for long exposures and great night shots. Plus the array of restaurants and visitors would itself be an inviting series of subjects.

So do register yourself and hope to have fun once again.

  • A Superb event

    Hello everyone, I’m sure those of you who joined the walk yesterday, enjoyed it immensely. I did. It was not only a great experience to photograph an area over changing light situations but also a pleasure to meet everyone. There were many I met for the first time and others whom I had known ‘online’ but never met. Still there were some whom I saw over a period of a few years, I guess everyone felt that way. We all enjoyed tremendously and I wish to thank each and everyone of you for making this a successful event. Those who couldn’t make it, I am sure next year would be as fun and enjoyable as this one Insha’Allah.

    I would like to take this opportunity to thank Ammar and other management personnel of Port Grand for their immense contribution in making this event such a success. Free entry, early opening, assistance and support all of which were part of their sponsorship for the walk. Just goes to show that Port Grand is committed to showing the ‘brighter side of Pakistan’ to the world.

    I will shortly update the method and location where the photos are to be uploaded.

    Global Photographers Walk at Port Grand

    The Largest Global Social Event for Photographers

     

    Karachi, Pakistan – September 30, 2011 – On Saturday, October 1 and Sunday, October 2, the whole world will be walking again with Scott Kelby, president of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP) and #1 bestselling computer and technology book author, in his Fourth Annual Worldwide Photo Walk™ — the world’s largest global social photography event in the history of photography.

     

    This year, the Photo Walk will take place over two days in October giving more photographers from around the world a chance to participate. In 2010, more than 30,000 photographers walked in over 1,000 locations taking 6 million images in just one day. We anticipate that this year’s Photo Walk will be one of the biggest events. 

    Local photographer Group, Photo-club of Karachi is helping Karachi take part in this worldwide event by organizing a Photo Walk at Port Grand, on 2nd October, 2011 at 6pm.

    Port Grand is the ultimate hangout, a heaven for a Photographer, an everlasting excitement for a Gourmet, a walk of life for a connoisseur of arts and crafts, a backdrop as elegant as Maxwell’s equation, a thing of beauty and a joy forever. Gone maybe the days when an architectural project was an aesthetic undertaking. But Port Grand certainly rolls back years when streets themselves made a vibrant art gallery. Years when one’s view was not strangled with dust, wires, seepage, neglect and betrayal. Years when one’s imagination was not obscured by fleeting ambition, earthly desires, pure greed and excessive bigotry.

    Port Grand has always been and always will commit to promote the good side of Pakistan locally and internationally. And this event is a right platform for us to associate our name with it and open our doors for the participant of Photowalk. We wish all the participants Good luck and a successful event.

    Hello, Port Grand has very kindly agreed to sponsor this walk and very kindly allow us to enter at 5pm to have more light available to us. Therefore all of you please try to come by 5pm. If you are late no problem, but please do try.

    Please don’t forget your gear: camera, flash, batteries, tripod, memory card etc….
