Photo Walk Description

We would love to have you join us for another great walk as part of the Wordwide Photo Walk. We will be leading this year’s walk on Saturday, October 1, 2011 from 5PM to 7PM (with the option to meet together for dinner and social time afterward).

The location we have chosen is the Kansas City River Market. We will meet at the City Market Park at Main and 3rd Street in the River Market and proceed from there. We will not be following a set course for the walk and will see what “feels right” on the day of the walk as to the route we take. We are still working on finding the ideal location to get together afterward, ideally in the River Market. I will update everyone as soon as we know where we will be meeting afterward.

I am totally excited about hosting a walk again this year and hope to see familiar faces and new ones! This will be a great opportunity for everyone to capture some awesome shots, perhaps learn a new skill or two and maybe make some new friends who share your passion for photography.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on October 1!

Also had a great time last year. Only suggestion would be to do it outside of the Crossroads area since that’s where your walk was last year.

Any news yet about where it’s going to be?

  10. John Roushkolb says:

Thrilled to see this walk down in the City Market area. I’ve long wanted an excuse to go down there and shoot, and this is it. As for the meet-up spot afterward, I’ve not been to either of these places on a Saturday night, but Winslow’s BBQ and Harry’s Country Club are both pretty close, pretty reasonable on the price, and very tasty.

  11. Get your walking shoes warmed up!

The Fourth Annual Scott Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk is just a few days away. It looks like we are going to have perfect weather this year. I am looking forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting some first time walkers!

Below is the final information for this year’s walk. You may view a PDF of the walk day flyer (including map) at the link below. We will have copies available for everyone on walk day. Please meet and wait as a group at the starting location. We will have a few announcements and do a group photo before heading out.

    See you Saturday!

Today is walk day and the weather is going to be perfect! If your plans have changed and you are unable to join us, please reply and let me know so I can remove you from the list of walkers.

Also, after the walk, please take a second to fill out the brief form/survey at the link below. This will give us feedback so we can improve future walks. 15. Hello Walkers!

Just a quick reminder that Kelby requires the photo you wish to enter into the contest to be uploaded by October 10, 2011 by 11PM (Central time) via your profile on the website.

To upload, visit http://www.worldwidephotowalk.com and log in to your walker account.

Once logged in, there are instructions for uploading your photo in the center of the page. Please follow them carefully to upload your image. If you have trouble with the upload, I recommend logging out and back in and trying again. Especially if it is in the last 6-8 hours before the deadline. Sometimes the large volume of traffic to the Kelby site at the last minute causes issues. I recommend getting your image uploaded as early as possible so you have time to resolve any issues prior to the deadline.

Thanks and good luck with your entry!

  16. Erin Anderson says:

Nathan, Hi, thanks for the reminder about submissions! Really a fun experience. I tried uploading a photo for the contest and I’m not sure if it uploaded. It stayed on the same screen so I tried it a few times. Is there a way for me to know if it uploaded?

    Thanks!

    Erin

  17. Erin. It does not appear to have uploaded. On my main page when I log in I can see all the photos which have been uploaded, and the walker name appears below the photo. I do not see one for you. I would suggest trying it again. :o )

  18. If you need to contact me for some reason, please use the “contact leader” link on the web page, or shoot me an email to nathan (at) creativephotographic.com. I am not notified of comments posted to the main page and will not see them unless I log in and check.

    Thanks.

    Nathan

  20. Stephan Peterson says:

When I logged it said that submission deadline had passed, yet I’d gotten the email over the weekend saying the deadline was October 10, 2011 by 11PM (Central time). Confused.
