Photo Walk Description

We will start at the Jacksonville Landing, rain or shine (within reason). There is plenty of parking and great photo ops starting just outside the doors. We will start VERY early to catch the sunrise (7:19am) coming down the river. Then we will take a round about loop through early morning down town Jacksonville, eventually ending up at Chamblin Bookmine for some coffee, food, and conversation (and of course checking out each others lcd screens)

Is this where I sign up for the walk?

  2. Rich Horn says:

I tried signing up with the link provided but When I went to sign up button it does not contine on, it appears to be looking for the capta info but there is not a box there to enter it. Please get back to me because i am interested in signing up with the walk as well as some organization related to photography.

    Thanks for your help.

Hi Rich, Try http://www.jaxcameraclub.com for a local photography related organization. The meeting location is on the very bottom of the home page & it’s a bit tricky to find the new meeting place the first time, but the folks are friendly & knowledgeable. Hope this help with at least one of your query’s. Regards, Teresa Metz

    • Debbie Osorio says:

Rich, also check out http://www.jaxphotogroup.com for the Jacksonville Photographers Meetup Group. You can also find us on Facebook as well.

    • Terry Lynch says:

When you click on the button you should get a pop-up window asking you for the information to set up your account to register. I assume that the problem you are having may be due to either the browser you are using or the settings on your browser.

I would try using a different browser and see if that works.

If not, just e-mail me at Terry.Lynch@me.com and let me know what you want your username sand password to be, I will go ahead and sign up for you.

  3. Susan De Mendoza says:

What do I need to bring for this walk? I did not get a confirmation of the registration. Thanks.

    • Terry Lynch says:

I see your registration, you are officially signed up! I would bring comfortable, weather appropriate clothes, a camera, any camera accessories that you feel you will need (including extra charged batteries), and a sense of humor. Of course if the weather looks like it may be wet, bring rain gear for both you and your camera. We will brave a slightly rainy morning (sometimes bad weather makes great photos), but will re-schedule if it is really bad.

  4. Debbie Osorio says:

    Looking forward to the photowalk.

  5. Terry Lynch says:

Anybody interested in ordering an ‘official Photo walk’ t-shirt, or sweat-shirt, head over to http://www.cafepress.com/townerjones/7948472 . These are purely optional, so no pressure, but the profits from the shirts do go to Springs of Hope Kenya Orphanage, so it is a good way to show your support for the photo walk, and at the same time, help those in need.

I look forward to meeting all of you and will do my best to keep you posted when tidbits like this come along.

  6. Ryan Schinneller says:

I’ve never done a photowalk before. Seems like it will be fun. I am primarily a videographer. I am bringing a camera with video capabilities. Any thing wrong with grabbing some footage of the actual photowalk?

    • Terry Lynch says:

I don’t see a problem with getting some video footage. In fact, I think it would be great. I will double check with Scott Kelby to make sure that there is no problem with it, but for now, plan on it.

      Thanks.

      • Terry Lynch says:

I just received confirmation from Scot Kelby (Well, actually from one of his photo walk elves) that it is officially OK to get video footage of the photo walk, as long as all footage of the photo walk organizer are flattering and make him look 30 pounds lighter.

        I’m just sayin’….

    • Ryan Schinneller says:

Guess I’ll have to use the same lens I use on myself…

  7. Lourdes Merrow says:

I got two registration emails. I noticed participation is limited so you may want to check that. Only one of me will be attending. :)

  8. Terry Lynch says:

I only show one of you attending, so I think you are ok to show up as a single you, not a double you (w). ;-)

  9. Roxanne de Sousa says:

I did not get a registration email (checked my junk too). Am I registered? I also see my name in Red, does that mean I am on the wait list?
    Thanks,

    Roxanne

    • Terry Lynch says:

I just checked and you are signed up properly. I don’t know why you didn’t receive a registration e-mail, but you are certainly good to go.

I look forward to seeing you there.

  10. Beth Reed says:

This will be awesome and my first “meet-up” meet-up. I’m looking forward to it!

  11. Federico Ubalde says:

I’m on the waiting list. How and when will I know if I can join the walk?

    • Terry Lynch says:

I am not sure if the site will e-mail you automatically, if there are enough cancellations for you to make the 50 limit. You are #2 right now on the list (you were #3 but somebody today indicated that they will not be there). I will make sure to e-mail you if there are 2 more cancellations.

  12. MYCHAEL A. BENNETT says:

I will like to know how can i join the walk group.

  13. Dani Galski says:

I’m on the waiting list – hope I can go! =)

  14. Jackie Tabony says:

Hi! This is my first photo walk and wanted to know if there will be many opportunities to use my tripod (and if it is worth lugging around). What is the ‘pace’ of the walk?
    Thank you!

    • Terry Lynch says:

Jackie, not sure if you will get this at the last hour. It is fine to bring a tripod, but remember you will be carrying it for 2 hours. I may bring a light tripod for early morning shots, not sure you will probably play it by ear. The pace is very leisurely. The idea is to get great pictures, not a great workout.

      see you there.
