Photo Walk Description
Hi everyone! My name is Dezra Despain and I will be leading the Worldwide Photo Walk in this area.
We will begin our walk on the Monon Trail in back of the Indianapolis Art Center and will follow it into Broad Ripple. I am still working out the specific route within Broad Ripple but I am quite excited with the possibilities. Anyone familiar with Broad Ripple knows that it will offer a diverse range of photographic opportunities. The Monon Trail will start us off but then we will wander into the bustling early evening of Broad Ripple where we will have opportunity to photograph people, kitschy buildings, and even the calm of the canal that passes through the area. Sunset on that day is 7:30 pm (7:29 to be precise!) so the light should be to our advantage.
Broad Ripple will be teeming with activity on a Saturday evening so I am in the process of scoping out an end location where we can meet and talk about our adventure without too much noise and interference from the crowds. It will be very exciting!

Hey everyone! Tomorrow is the big day. I am so excited! The walk is fairly straightforward. We will meet in the parking lot at the Art Center and then head south on Ferguson Street to Broad Ripple Ave. We will return up the Monon Trail to Broad Ripple Brew Pub, which is where we will gather to hang out and talk about the experience. From there it is a short two block walk back to our cars. I will have more details tomorrow.
The weather is looking to be our friend! With that being said, you may want to bring sunblock if you feel the need. Also, water is always a nice thing to have with you.
I will have more information about submitting photos tomorrow, also.

Hey everyone. I want to give you information on how to join the Flickr group I set up for us. If you already have a Flickr account, you can search for the group and ask to join, or I can invite you. But in order for me to invite you, I need the email that you used to set up your Flickr account or your Flickr screen name. If you don’t have a Flickr account, you will need to create one. The name of the Flickr group is 2011 Worldwide Photo Walk Broad Ripple. Just do a search and you should find it. Right now it’s empty, but I may upload some of the photos I took just to get it started.
If you have questions, contact me via the “contact leader” link above. That goes directly to my email and I will respond directly to you.
Did you guys get the message I sent to (I am assuming) your email address? It included the submit date and a little about the Flickr group. Please let me know so I know if the way this site is set up is working. I’m a little concerned.
So far two people have indicated the message I sent via “contact walkers” was found in their spam folder. I know not everyone comes to this page, but if you do, please check your spam folder for messages from me. I can’t contact you otherwise.

I got it OK, but when I tried opening this page yesterday I got a Error 404, not sure why.

WWPW has had off-and-on problems with the website. Right now it is working, though (because I can post this!!!) I sent invites to the Flickr group to those who have asked. Please look for them. I believe I have added everyone who has asked to the Flickr group. I am leaving tomorrow and will not have access to a computer until late Sunday.
