Photo Walk Description
This is a very easy “hiking trail” that goes up to the Makapu’u Lighthouse lookout. About 90% of this trail is a paved access road with a relatively gentle slope. The total length of the trail is maybe a mile and a half. This trail is great for families and there is no charge for entry. Walkers should be prepared with comfortable shoes, sunscreen, water and maybe a hat in addition to your photo gear. I’m scheduling the walk for 8 a.m. in hopes that this will avoid the worst of the heat. But even so, you should be aware that there is almost no shade along this trail.
Parking is always in short supply on this trail and you may have to parallel park along the driveway to the parking lot.
I’ve registered for the Downtown Photowalk and would like to do Makapu’u also but this site will not allow me to register for both. How do I register for both walks?

Hmm. The FAQ for photowalk leaders says that we have to make separate accounts if we want to join a walk and lead another walk. I think their system can only accommodate one photo walk per account. You should try setting up a second account and signing up through that.
This looks like a bug to me.. I’ll send a request through the organizer’s system.

How is parking there? This will be my first time to the site.
I checked out parking last week. At 8 a.m. the marked stalls were about full, but people were parallel parking along the access road. There was plenty of room along the access road.
