Photo Walk Description
Hermann is a quaint wonderful little German heritage town in the middle of Missouri wine country. There is wonderful opportunities to photograph architecture, historic buildings, shops, B&B’s, wineries, people and more. October is an Exciting time in Hermann and the Oktoberfest Festival is taking place during this time.
Our plan is to meet at 8am in the riverfront park (across the RR tracks) by the Hermann sign to do some admin and take a group picture. The walk will run from 8:15-10:15. We will re-assemble after the walk at the park covered picnic area. About 10:30 we will migrate to Montague’s on Schiller St. as our lunch place for anyone who wants to hang and share stories and pics. Remember this is a social event. Montague’s prices are moderate with sandwiches around the $6-7 range with most plates under $9.
Steve a couple of us want to join up for the walk in Herman. Most of us have never been there so we are looking forward to a very exciting and interesting day.

I have never a done a photo walk before, so I’m really excited about this!
So I have an idea what to expect, do folks usually bring their tripods? Do you walk as a group, or disperse and gather up at the end of the walk?
you can bring whatever you want to carry, but the whole walk is about 1-1/2 miles and you can do all or part of it, so you are never too far from your car. tripods may be good early in the morning. people usually start as a group but tend to break off and do their own thing. it is an exciting time and we will take a group picture before we head out on the walk…just in case anyone gets lost….lol. I will be opening a flickr group account for us but I am waiting for some more information from the walk promoters. I will also be posting a lunch spot for after the walk if anyone wants to hang afterward and chat or share some pics.

Montague’s has been added as a place to hang out and have lunch after the walk. They do not serve breakfast anymore but agreed to open at 10:30. There is a menu on their website http://www.montaguesbedandbreakfast.com/bbq.html
A flickr group has been created for the members of our walk. You can add photos to this site after the walk but your final photo for the judging needs to be uploaded to the proper site by the deadline. You need to set up a free flickr account if you do not have one. If you want to join our group please include the name you registered with so I can verify the request and approve you.

Hi Steve, The Hermann walk was very enjoyable. Thanks for organizing it. The day was beautiful, the city pictureque and the group was fun.
I am not sure I have any pictures worth sharing but would like to view the pictures that others have uploaded. Where do I go to see them. I looked out at Flickr but did not see the group.
