Photo Walk Description

We will start at Tydings Park. There is plenty of free parking at the park. Meet at the Gazebo right at the entrance to the parking lot for a group shot. After introductions, we will start with shots of the expansive bay view at the park, and then make our way along the Promenade on the waterfront. This leads to the Maritime museum and the Concord Point Lighthouse. There are many great photographic opportunities along the way. We will make our way up the Washington Street and eventually end up at MacGregor’s Pub for lunch.

Welcome. Wow, this just opened today, and there are already over 34,000 walkers.

  2. Katie Kinlin says:

I’ve walked along here so many times for pictures, honestly I can’t see myself being able to go on a photowalk and be interested by the area, haha~

Its worth a shot though and the photowalk sounds like fun. Can’t wait to do it!

    • Wayne Camlin says:

Thanks for signing up, Katie. I’m new to the area, so maybe you can show me some good places to shoot. This is my 4th Photowalk, and second time leading one, so I can promise it will be a good time.

  3. Rob says:

Hi Wayne, I may join your photowalk in the morning but officially I think I will be doing another in the evening. I just wont be able to submit a photo for judging but would like to explore the Havre de Grace area

  4. Gary Regulski says:

    Hi Wayne,

It turns out I can’t make the photo walk after all, but I can’t seem to remove my name from the attendee list. Is it hidden somewhere on the website?

    Thanks,
    Gary Regulski

  5. Julie Greenwood says:

Hey Wayne. I am in. I walked with you last year in chesapeake city last year as well. Looking forward to it.

  6. Wayne Camlin says:

Let’s get to know each other…

Have you attended a previous Worldwide Photowalk?

  7. Dick Rhodes says:

First time walker – no expectations other than a rewarding experience

  8. David Holt says:

    Hello,

Can’t wait for the walk. I’ve been here before, but never walk through the town.

  9. Wayne Camlin says:

I took a few shots around Havre de Grace as I was planning our route last weekend.

Stop by my Flickr site and check them out: http://www.flickr.com/photos/wcamlin/sets/72157627627134319/with/6182076095/

  10. Gene Straubmuller says:

Looking forward to this photo shoot. I am bringing my wife Rita along

  11. Cathy K says:

Wayne, I’m planning on headed down there from PA with a few friends who also signed up. I know the weather isn’t supposed to be totally promising. I’m assuming you have access to my e-mail even though it doesn’t post. Please send me an update via e-mail if you decide to cancel as our travel times are between 1-2 hours! Thanks. I’m looking forward to a nice day. We did our first walk last year in Philly.

  12. Joseph Pasquale says:

My wife Kathy will be joining me. We’ll be coming from PA with Gene and Rita. Looking forward to the walk as it’s been a bunch of years since our last visit to Havre de Grace. As of right now (6am Sat 1Oct) looks like the morning might be nice with showers in the PM. Keep our fingers crossed.

  13. Wayne Camlin says:

To all that are checking this this morning: we are a go with the walk, rain or shine. It’s a little chilly and could be windy, so wear layers.

See you at the gazebo at 10!

  14. Wayne Camlin says:

Once the walk is over, come back here to post your best shot from the walk. The only rule is that it had to have been taken during the walk. The deadline for posting is October 7th. I will then choose the one I think is best and submit it for the prize, Scott’s book. It will also be entered for the grand prize.

I created a group on Flickr for us all to post and share whatever other shots we want. It’s located here: http://www.flickr.com/groups/1793447@N23/

    • Cathy Kuhlman says:

Wayne, I am just checking to see if a photo taken after lunch qualifies? I am
assuming it does not, but someone suggested I check, just to be sure.

      • Wayne Camlin says:

Cathy, here are the posted rules:
        Q. What are the rules for pictures I can submit to the contest?

        A. We’ve had a ton of questions each year about this. Most recently, we’ve had lots of questions about model shoots during the walk. Here’s how we feel about it: you can shoot models as long as it happens on the walk route, during the official 2-hour (approx.) walk time chosen by your walk leader. Also, you can use Adobe Photoshop to your hearts content, as long as everything in your photo was taken during the official walk hours along on the walk route. You can’t go back at sunset and shoot it in better light, and so on. Also, you can’t add a better sky that you shot in that same location on some other day. Basically, whatever you submit, it has to be taken during the official walk you participated in. You can shoot panos, HDR, B&Ws, you can create collages, you can process them with Instagram on your iPhone—I don’t care—it just has to be all shot during your 2-hour walk. If you don’t agree with the rules, no sweat whatsoever—just don’t enter the competition portion of the walk.

      • Cathy K says:

Thank you Wayne. That makes it perfectly clear!

  15. sue gardiner says:

    Hi Wayne,
Thank you for organizing the walk through Havre de Grace yesterday. I had a great time. Can you tell me where the link is to upload a photo to you. Thanks!

    Sue

    • Wayne Camlin says:

There should be a button above to upload your photo. I’m not sure, because I don’t have that button as the leader. I see that 3 people so far have uploaded their shot.

  16. Cathy K says:

Thanks for leading the walk yesterday Wayne! I loved your intro about our goals and route. It was nice to have a glimpse into our journey. It was also evident that you did your homework to ensure a smooth outing! The only thing that could have been improved upon was the weather, but no one had any control over that. At least it didn’t rain! I am looking forward to seeing everyone’s shots on the flickr page you set up for us to use.

  17. Joseph Pasquale says:

Sue Gardiner… I was wondering the same thing and see that a place for image upload shows up when you log in.

  18. Sue Gardiner says:

Wayne, where can view everyone’s submitted photos?

    • Wayne Camlin says:

      Sue,

I’m told that once the deadline has passed, you should be able to see all the submissions above. I can’t tell if that’s the case because I see a different view as the leader. If that’s not the case, maybe it will be after I have selected the leader.

  19. Sue Gardiner says:

Thanks Wayne. As of this writing, I do not see any links on your World Wide Photowalk web site where to view all submitted photos. Maybe I’m doing something wrong?

    Sue

  20. Wayne Camlin says:

    Congratulations Lawrence Borreson!

  21. Joseph Pasquale says:

Way to go Larry! Very nice image!

  22. Gene Straubmuller says:

Congradulations!! Great Photo taken by you Larry.

  23. Greg Thomas says:

    Congradulations, nice shot.

  24. Lawrence Borreson says:

    Thank you.

  25. Cathy K says:

Congratulations Larry! Truly worthy of a winning shot! Nicely processed too!
