About This Walk

We will start at the “House of Photography” of the Deichtorhallen Museum complex. There is a large parking area right there, however, it’s a bit expensive. You could also get there by subway (nearest station is Messberg, on the U1 line). We’ll then make our way across the “Upper Harbor Bridge” (Oberhafenbrücke) into Hamburg’s newest hip neighborhood, the Harbor City. By 7pm, we plan to end the walk in front of Hamburg’s new iconic Elbphilharmonic. If we can get tickets on the spot (depending on current number of visitors, but free of charge), we can ride Europe’s longest curved escalator for a visit to the building’s plaza for some amazing vistas across the harbor.

Be sure to wear good walking shoes, charge your batteries and empty your memory cards.

Your photowalk leader is Andy Bitterer, who has lead many photowalks in the past.
