Photo Walk Description

Note: The Official Worldwide Photo Walk Date is July 24th, 2010

We’ll be walking along the Gordons Bay beachfront on Beach Road and the beaches themselves, starting shortly before sunrise. We will meet just inside the gates at the old harbour/yacht club and walk out along the harbour wall to the end, before turning back, leaving the harbour and walking along Beach Road past the Naval College until we can turn down to the beach. From there we’ll walk along the beach and rocks as far as the main beach before moving up to Beach Road and moving back along it until we reach Tallas Tavern where the walk will end and we can have some coffee or breakfast while we chat and chimp over the photos we’ve taken.

Please try to be at the starting point around 6:45 am so that we can start the walk at 7am. Sunrise is at 7:43 so we will have 40 minutes to shoot in before the sun crests the mountains and find spots that we want to shoot the sunrise from. I aim to arrive at the start earlier, around 6:15am to catch the setting of the almost full moon over the bay at 6:28am. You’re welcome to join me then if you like. This screenshot shows the times and directions for the sunrise and moonset on the day of the walk.

    The direction of the walk has been reversed. The starting point will now be the parking lot at the old harbour/yacht club.

    Count me and my wife in as well!
    I have successfully registered for the walk but my wife is not registered.
    Should I ask her to do the same or is it not necessary?
