Photo Walk Description
Give is a little town of 4200 people in the middle of Denmark. It’s on the western edge of Vejle Municipality.
Most interesting about Give is that a group of creative thinkers got together a few years ago and decided that Give should be Denmark’s biggest outdoor art gallery.
They have managed to attract sculptors from around the world (but most with a Danish connection) and convinced them to exhibit their work in Give.
So this little town in the middle of Denmark features around 60 works of art, large and small. Many are for sale. All are well-worth photographing.
(You can read more about it at skulpturby.wix.com)
Our walk will explore this outdoor gallery.
The leader of the walk is Julie Broberg, a transplant to Give (and to Denmark) and an avid freelance photographer. She’s taken a photo every day since May 2008.
She blogs at Moments of Perfect Clarity (www.julochka.com) and shares her daily photos on Tumblr (julochka365.tumblr.com).
We hope that those who participate will contribute their best photos to a year-long project – Livet i Give – documenting everyday life in our town (even if you’re not from here). There will be an exhibition of all of the contributed photos in 2013.
Everyone is welcome – all ages, all kinds of cameras (from mobile to DSLR). Bring your raincoat (it can be rainy in Denmark in October) and join us to learn about a little-known corner of Denmark.
(A BIG Thank you to Per Kronvold for both the idea and the photo of me!)
