Photo Walk Description

Dear walkers,

Thank you for joining this year’s worldwide photowalk.

First of all I would like to mention THIS ACTIVITY IS FOR EVERYBODY from beginners to professional photographers, everybody is welcome. We can always learn from each other even only because everybody sees the world differently through their lenses. It is a way of making new friends sharing same passion and afterwards we could even start a GE photowalking group. Afterwards drinks as well.

As you can see on the map, it is a walk through the Old City of Geneva. The old quarter of the city is very worth the visit. Beautiful buildings, narrow streets, impressive wooden made doors and windows, ideal for street photography.

St-Germain
St-Pierre
Maison Tavel
Bourg de Four
Parc des Bastions&Palais Eynard
Mur des Réformateurs
Place de neuve
Buste Henry Dunant
Jet d’eau – of course.

Estimating a 2h-3h walk, 4km long.

Meeting point: Genève-Pâquis Ferry Stop (Opposite hotel Beau-Rivage). Look for the sign: a circle with letter W inside.

You might find useful a shower cap to attach to your camera in case some small rain coming up.

    A small change, we are going to the UN as well, I think for Geneva we should take the advantage of it, it is something that the others don’t have in their countries. We might be able to shoot a protest or maybe the fountains will be working.

    Bring your tripod if you have one, your zone 10 Ticket and your smile!

    Thanks for this Photowalk in Geneva.
    It was nice to meet people with this same passion of Photography.
    I just regret that it was so difficult to stay together and that we always hurry in each place we went.
    Perhaps next time a more organized trip and why not a theme…
    Is there a link on Flickr to upload our photos ?
    Where do we have to send the pictures to participate ?
    How many pictures ? (Due date ?…)

    Thank you all for coming yesterday! Luckily I survived and after a long sleep and big amounts of Neocitron I am back with exact details. Just check your emails.

    Gilles, all details were already sent to you all BUT you could have also checked it online on this page. Regarding your regrets, I am really sorry you had the impression you were in a hurry without a theme. As it is said on the page: 2 -2.30 hours walk, in Geneva, street photography as a theme. In a group of 30+ people some will be always in front asking me why and what are we waiting for the ones behind thinking the group is moving too fast.

    If you have some ideas about some photowalks themes, I am curious to see them on our flikr group and join you for the walk. I was also mentioning yesterday the 10 steps photowalk or a color theme walk. We could also have some photo duels. Ill come back with details when we all are in group on flickr.
