Photo Walk Description
It’s official: once again IWDIG’s Gary Early is about to put the Isle of Wight on the worldwide photographic map, by hosting a photo walk. This will be unique as when we step out from Dimbola Lodge Photographic Museum & Galleries the centre of photographic excellence on the Island we will be joining thousands of photographers from across the world in Scott Kelby’s 4th Annual Worldwide Photo Walk™
This photo walk event is open to everyone on the Isle of Wight and its a great chance to meet other local photographers, and find out what interests them.
The gentle paced walk will start and end at Dimbola Lodge taking in Freshwater on 1st October 2011 between 1pm to 4pm. Refreshments and possible chimping will mean you should set aside 2 hours 30 mins for the walk and related activities. More details at www.iwdig.org.uk to follow later…

This proposed walk is a great idea and certainly another leap forward for the IWDIG, if there is space I would love to enter.
Winning would be nice but taking part is more important. (Who am I kidding?)
Thanks to everyone for signing up for our very first Isle of Wight Worldwide Photo Walk.
The response has been very encouraging especially as there are quite a few registrations from other locations.
As we meet at Dimbola Lodge the former home of renowned Victorian Photographer Julia Margaret Cameron, there will be plenty of opportunity to absorb the ambience as well as take some great photos.
Hi Gary,
many thanks for the lovely exercise the other day, great turnout, well planned and good company.
Just a comment on the tinyurl website, this is not recognised so cannot download the one photo, what do I need to do?
regards Walter
Thank you to everyone who attended our first Isle of Wight Worldwide Photo Walk.
We know you all appreciated the gentle excercise, but for those who wish to submit images into the worldwide online competition you only have until 7th October to do so.
You will require your registration details from when you originally signed up to join the Worldwide Photo Walk 2011.
I look forward to seeing your images.
I have provided details and pictorals on the Isle of Wight Digital Imaging Group website link here http://tinyurl.com/3shz6vw
Walter if you need assistance feel free to give me a ring.
Regards Gary
Apparently the competition deadline has been extended to 10th October (12pm EDT).
I discovered the change of date purely by chance on this link http://www.scottkelby.com/blog/2011/archives/22117
Hi All,
The winning image for the Isle of Wight Worldwide Photo Walk 1st October 2011 has been selected.
A special thanks to all of the Isle of Wight Photo walkers who participated.
Congratulations go to Brenda Lynn for her well visualised image of people enjoying the sunshine and beach in Freshwater Bay. It was a difficult choice because there were some superb photos entered, but at the end of the day the winning image captured ‘fun in the sun’ on 1st October, which we all experienced.
The image will go through to the next round and there will be an opportunity for all participants to take part in a public vote. More details to follow…
Regards
Gary
