Photo Walk Description

It’s October in the City of Edmonton and what better time to head out and photograph the beautiful fall colors of Edmonton’s River Valley. Join me for one of several Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photo Walks taking place in Edmonton on Sunday, October 2nd from 3-5 pm. Our group will be exploring the trails in the River Valley near Wilfrid Laurier Park (across the street from the Valley Zoo). We’ll meet in the parking lot located at the end of Beuna Vista Road between 2:45 – 3:00. Our walk will begin at 3:00 and will wrap up at around 5:00. Afterward we’ll head over to Delux Burger Bar in West Edmonton Mall to socialize and share our images with each other over a tasty beverage. Please be sure to RSVP to let me know if you’re planning to join us at Delux so that I can confirm numbers with the restaurant before Sunday.

    Thanks to everyone who made it out to today’s walk and braved the wet weather. For those who stuck it out and managed to get some photos, please join the Flickr group that was created for both walks that were held in Edmonton this weekend. If you don’t have a Flickr account, you can sign up for one for free. The address is: http://www.flickr.com/groups/yeg-photowalk-2011/. We are limiting the group to only those who participated in the walk so you’ll have to be approved by the walk leaders to be added to the group when you sign up so approval might not be immediate.

    Also, don’t forget to upload your favorite image from the day to the Worldwide Photo Walk website before 12:00 EST on October 7th. Walk leaders will choose their favorite image and that person will win a copy of Scott Kelby’s book, “Light It, Shoot It, Retouch It”. The winners chosen from each city will then go on to compete for a bunch of other great prizes which you can see here: http://worldwidephotowalk.com/prizes/

  • Updated Meeting Place for Dinner & Drinks After the Walk

    Just a quick note that I have finalized the venue where we will be meeting up after our walk. We have chosen Delux Burger in West Edmonton Mall which is located on Bourbon Street. Please RSVP to bruce@momentsindigital.com before Saturday, October 1st to confirm if you will be joining us so I can finalize numbers with the restaurant.

        I just sent a reminder to my group that you have a walk also. Some are on my waiting list and your walk and I’ve told them to pick one. I got a big group – Boston Pizza on Whyte is going to be overrun with us on Saturday! Have you created a Flickr group? We should create a shared Edmonton walk one if you want – thoughts?

        We are going to be going to Delux Burger in WEM. Still waiting for people to RSVP back to see how many we wind up with. I haven’t created a Flickr group yet but that’s probably a good idea.
