Photo Walk Description

Note: The Official Worldwide Photo Walk Date is July 24th, 2010

Welcome to the official site for Scott Kelby’s 3rd Annual Worldwide Photo Walk – the Edmonton edition. Photographers of all ages and abilities are invited to join us on Saturday, July 24th from 10:30 – 12:30. This year’s walk will be held on the grounds of the University of Alberta which offers an exciting mix of modern and classical architecture, combined with beautiful green spaces. We’ll be meeting in front of the Timm’s Centre for the Arts which is located on the corner of 87 Avenue and 112 Street. Our planned walk will go from 10:30 – 12:30 followed by lunch and drinks at Earl’s on Campus. Walkers should plan on meeting in front of the Timm’s Centre between 10:15 – 10:30 so that we can get started at 10:30.

The Timm’s Centre is located very close to the University of Alberta LRT station and Hub Mall so there is excellent access for those taking public transit. For those driving, there are several places to park on campus but please note that all parking on campus is paid parking and you need a parking permit to park in residential areas.

Watch for more details on our walk as the day draws closer. You can follow me on Twitter for regular updates and news about our walk. http://www.twitter.com/bruceclarke or visit my blog at http://www.momentsindigital.com/blog

Looking forward to seeing everyone on July 24th!

  • Removing Yourself from the Walk

    Hey everyone,

In just over one week, we will gather to participate in Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photo Walk. The response to our walk has been incredible with our walk filling up in just three short weeks. Several people are now on our waiting list and are anxious to join us so if you previously registered for the walk and are not able to join us, please log-in to the Photowalk website and click on the “Leave This Walk” button which can be found on the top right corner of the walk map. I’ve had a couple of emails from people asking me to remove them from the list but unfortunately I do not have that ability. You must cancel your own registration by logging into the site and clicking that link. That will remove you from the list and open up a spot for someone on the waiting list. Thanks for your cooperation on this.

For those who are on the waiting list, there are 2 other walks happening in Edmonton that day which still have spots open. Both Ian and Darlene are great photographers and have planned great walks so I would encourage you to sign up for those walks if you want to guarantee yourself a spot in a walk that day.

Next week I’ll post up some general reminders and things to keep in mind for our walk. Looking forward to seeing everyone on the 24th!

  • One Year Fotojournal Pro Blog Up for Grabs

    Hey gang,

The great team over at Fotojournal, www.myfotojournal.com have stepped up to the plate and donated a one-year Pro Blog as an additional prize for our Photowalk. Be sure to visit their site and send them some love for supporting our walk here in Edmonton. I’m working on trying to secure a few more prizes from local vendors so if you’re interested in donating a prize to our walk, be sure to get in touch with me at bruce@momentsindigital.com.

Watch for more walk updates coming soon!

    Hi there
Please remove Rylee Clark from the photowalk. She will be out of town that weekend.
    With thanks

    • Bruce Clarke says:

      Hi Rylee,

I don’t have the ability to remove people from the walk. Please use the website to remove yourself from the walk to free up a spot for someone on our waiting list.

      Thanks

      Bruce

    • Bruce Clarke says:

      Hi Sid,

I’m afraid there isn’t anything I can do if the walk is full. If someone cancels then the spot will be opened up for the next person in line on the waiting list. There are two other walks happening in Edmonton so you’re welcome to join those walks if you’d like to ensure yourself a spot in the Worldwide Photowalk.

      Thanks

      Bruce
