Photo Walk Description

Hello photo walkers! My name is Darlene and this is my third time as a World Wide Photo Walk leader. This year we’re going to do an evening walk and try and capture the sunset over the city skyline, with a river valley walk. Meeting place and end point may be adjusted, but the time and sunset goal will remain the same.

The photo walk is open to kids 8 and over, if they are attending with their parents. If you are bringing a child please register them as well as yourself as I need to count each person attending in the total number of walkers.

Our final meeting place for dinner is Ragazzi Bistro Italiano at 8110-82nd Avenue at 7:30pm. Because it is a restaurant each of us should eat something if we are taking up a seat. If we don’t want to eat, we can switch to a pub but I didn’t want to leave anyone out that was bring kids along on the walk. If the majority of the group would rather do a pub we can do Hilltop Pub on 106th street over by McNally. Unless I hear from the masses otherwise, we will meet at Ragazzi’s at 7:30pm. For those that want to photograph later that 7pm please feel free to keep going!

  • Confirming meeting place after the walk

    I’m in the process of confirming our meeting place for after the walk. Please see the email I sent out and RSVP back to me if you will be coming after or not. I need a head count in order to get a place booked.

    Tony Roma’s at Bonnie Doon gets really bad reviews so I’m looking for an alternative.

  • Google Plus Events!

    I’ve created a Google Plus Event for our walk that you can upload photos to after the event. Please go to this page and click that you are attending so you can share your images with the group. There will NOT be a Flickr or Facebook group this year, all photos will be shared on Google Plus only.

    If you are not a member it’s free and easy to join. Just fill in the sign up form and in minutes you’ll be logged in.

    There is also an event for the worldwide event where you can go and see photos from other walks around the world and add yours there too. You can find that event here:

    There is an official hashtag for you to mark your images with so they get recognized as being from one of the walks this year. Most likely it will be #WWPW2012. For our walk it will be #WWPW2012YEGSunset (there are three Edmonton walks so need something different at the end)

  • Time change - please take note!!!

    I am changing the time of the walk to begin at 5pm, so 30 minutes earlier! Please be on time, or ideally early as we can’t wait for people. We will do a group photo at 5pm and after that we’ll start walking. If you miss it you’ll have to catch up to us.

    Please be at the parking lot for the Edmonton Queen Riverboat by 4:50pm.
