About This Walk
Please join us for the Longmont edition of the Scott Kelby Worldwide Photowalk.
Todd Towell and Lynda Clayton of the St. Vrain Photographic Society will be your hosts. This family friendly walk in historic downtown Longmont is perfect for all photographers, experienced and brand new. You’ll just need comfy shoes, weather appropriate clothes/gear, and a camera (yes, even a cell phone will work).
We will meet under the pergola in the parking lot at 6th and Kimbark. After getting a group picture you are free to exploring the alley between Kimbark and Main street from 6th Ave south to 3rd Ave. From there, stroll along both sides of Main Street through the downtown district. This area is filled with many unique shops and classic buildings with original facades and interior features dating back to the Original Chicago-Colorado Colony’s establishment in 1870. We will contact local merchants in advance to make them aware of this event and (hopefully) gain permission for shooting inside shops. Details will be provided the day of the walk.
Entire walk (from 6th Ave to 3rd Ave and back) is about 1 mile. Expect to find interesting architecture, unique street photography, macro opportunities and even portraits. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination.
We will end our walk at The Pump House Restaurant (540 Main St, Longmont CO) Those who are interested can stay for lunch / refreshments and socializing. Sometimes the best part of a photo walk is the folks you meet along the way!
So if you want to stay in touch, participants can connect socially before, during and after the event using the hashtag #WWPW2017 hash tag on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
The folks at WorldWide Photowalk encourage all walkers to make this event even more powerful by supporting this year’s initiative to “Walk with a Purpose” by donating to the Springs of Hope Orphanage in Kenya! https://www.generosity.com/community-fundraising/let-s-transform-orphans-lives-together-wwpw2017.

Lunch PlansOctober 5th, 2017
I am very excited you all will be joining us for the Worldwide Photo walk on Saturday. It looks like the weather will be perfect but since you all live in Colorado you know it is always wise to plan for changing conditions. We won’t be far from the cars at any time so you can leave extra coats etc there. I will make reservations at the Pump House for us at 12:00. Please let me know if you will not be able to join the group for this self-hosted lunch. This will be an opportunity to get to know everyone and share stories /insights from our adventure. See you Saturday! Todd
