Photo Walk Description
An Adventure in Night Photography!
Welcome photo friends! We will be meeting at the parking lot at N 2nd and Locust. It is a pretty brick parking lot and near the back there is a delightful walkway between two buildings that I thought we would start are walk off at. We will be having some fun with some long exposure, night lights, night scenes, and even some light painting if you are up to it. We will explore Downtown DeKalb’s night life, lights, architecture and then take a walk around NIU campus to see the beauty of their architecture and campus at night. If you would like to try something fun, join us on the top of the parking garage for some great things to try with long exposure. The map is not the exact route, but I will have a map to hand out on walk day. Google maps only allows us to walk on streets and with the one way streets and campus walkways, I was not able to use the map correctly. Please remember that you must have a tripod for best results. Any camera will work and if you are not so sure about night photography, there will be others there to lend a hand helping with cameras and/or getting results. Please come and try it with us! It will be a fun evening! Rain date will be set for same time and place, Sunday, October 2nd.
Things to bring:
Camera
Tripod
Flashlight
Battery operated glowsticks (energizer makes them and Target sells them) -you do not have to have them, but they are a fun part of night photography
extra batteries are always a good thing too

It is a public parking lot. It is on the corner of 2nd street and Locust Street across from the Egyptian theater. The address of the Egyptian theater is 135 North 2nd Street, DeKalb IL 60115. We are not meeting in front of the Egyptian theater, but in the public parking lot.
