Photo Walk Description

The West Kentucky Photography Club in cooperation with the City of Dawson Springs is inviting everyone to join us in this one exciting activity. A family oriented social event for the main purpose of taking pictures of things that the photographer may find interesting. Our other aim is to practice and improve one’s own photography skills. From the point and shoot users to professional photographer, this is one activity that everyone will enjoy.

Our photo destination for this years photo walk will be Dawson Springs, KY. Dawson Springs is a city in Caldwell and Hopkins counties in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The population was 2,980 at the 2000 census. It is the birthplace of the current governor of Kentucky, Steve L. Beshear. From the late 1800s to the 1930s, Dawson Springs was well known as a spa and resort town. It is still popular as a tourist destination because of the Pennyrile Forest State Park and nearby lakes.

The group will meet at the Dawson Springs City Park Gazebo. There will be no specific route that the group will take but plans will be to meander around town taking pictures and having a great photographic adventure. The group will meet again after two hours at Becky’s Place, 309 East Arcadia Avenue, a few blocks from the city park. They say its the best place to eat in Dawson Springs!

Come join us!
