Photo Walk Description
We’ll walk around the historic Village of East Davenport, which will provide some very interesting architectural subject matter. We’ll then head to Lindsay Park, winding though a little section of McClellan Heights. At Lindsay Park, we’ll have some great views of the Mississippi River, and hopefully some fall foliage. We’ll end the walk close to where we started, and wind down over a cold brew (or hot plate of sausage) at the Bier Stube. This weekend is a crap shoot for weather, so be prepared for anything. Check the weather before you show up and dress accordingly. It could be warm, cold, rainy, snowing, anything’s possible – we are in the Midwest, after all. Above all, come planning to have some fun and take some great photos. I will recommend a good pair of walking shoes or maybe even hiking boots. We’ll be on sidewalk most of the time, but the McClellan Heights neighborhood is pretty hilly, and we’ll be wondering around upper Lindsay Park, which is on a Mississippi River bluff.
Ample free parking is available in one of two city parking lots at Mound Street & River Drive. The Village lot on the north side of River Drive is the closest, and the Village Theatre building is right off that lot. The other option is the south Lindsay Park lot, on the riverfront south of River Drive and the railroad tracks. There is also a good deal of on street parking, but that may be hard to come by on a Saturday afternoon.

I’d like to do both the LeClaire walk in the morning and this one in the afternoon. The website only allows me to sign up for one.
Do you think you’ll max out the limit on the Davenport one… I’m wondering if I can just show up without registering?
From what I can tell on the Walk Leaders FAQ, you can create a second account to register for a second walk. It says I can go to another walk if I create a second account, so I think that if leaders can, walkers should be able to as well. Just my opinion. If you really want an “official” answer, you should probably ask the admin-type folks at photowalk@kelbymediagroup.com, or on the NAPP or Photowalk Facebook pages.
Ditto
Scott mentioned signing up for multiple walks on his blog (http://www.scottkelby.com/blog/2011/archives/20697) Basically, they’d prefer if people wait to sign up for a second walk to give other people to sign up for at least one. This will be my third walk, and the other two had around 30-35, so I doubt either would fill up this year either.
Also, the web teams knows that the system doesn’t let you sign up for more than one, and supposedly they’re working on it. Then again, you could just do as Dustin suggests and avoid the whole mess.
Thanks for the info…. I’ll play it by ear for a couple of weeks.
I have an old OM1. Is that ok to take along, or is it all digital now?
Bring it! Of course it’s OK!
It was different kind of experience. Relaxing, no pressure, and such a nice day. Thank you all for making this a great experience.

Was a winning photo chosen/submitted for the Davenport photowalk?? The other walk location leaders have posted the pictures that were submitted plus the winner for that particular location for viewing…deadline was this morning wasn’t it?
Well, the deadline that was showing on my view of the page was 4:00 pm today, Eastern time. I just logged in to make my final decision, and it had somehow been made for me. So congratulations, Paula, for being the favorite of the gremlins? (Your photo was in my final two I was trying to decide on anyway.)
