Photo Walk Description

Welcome to Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photo Walk located in Dallas Texas. I am Michael Wayne Walker and this is my fourth photo walk. I have been a professional photographer in Dallas for almost 30 years. I use these photo walks as a creative outlet for myself and as a way to challenge myself to get out of my box creatively.
We will walk in and around the new venues, existing buildings and open spaces of the Arts District Downtown. An exact route has not been finalized. I will post it here as soon as it is completed. I hope to gain access for our group in areas that are normally off limits to the general public. This should be a way to capture images you normally can not accomplish on your own.
After the photo walk, we will finish at a place where we can eat, drink and “chimp” our images for an hour or so after the photo walk. These walks are fun, challenging, energetic and will boost your creativity. It is truly amazing how 50 people walking down the very same street, can come up with so many varied and creative views of the very same places. It also allows you the opportunity to build relationships with people along something that you have in common. Join us today.

  1. Stacey Daniel says:

Looking forward to my first photo walk. I am new to using a DSLR, so hoping to learn a few things while participating on the walk.

    • Stacey, you will be amazed how much you will learn. Make sure you participate in the after-walk get together, to see and talk with the other photo walkers and what they have done. It is a great learning experience.

  2. Nancy Simpson says:

So excited about the new date! Maybe we won’t be melting in October! Looking forward to my second walk! See you then.

  3. Gail O'Bannon says:

Michael, thanks for organizing the walk. I’m excited to walk with Dallas this year as I’ve walked with Austin and Ft. Worth groups in the past. Looking forward to meeting all the photogs. If you’re on Google+, let’s connect: Gail O’Bannon

  4. Cindy Miller says:

Looking forward to this walk. Last year was my 1st year to participate and I was living out in Amarillo. This year I’m living right in the middle of Downtown, so I can’t wait to snaps pics in my new hood! Hopefully, it will cool off by October!

  5. Jed Rollins says:

Can’t wait for my first photo walk! Assuming it will not be 111 degrees in October!

  6. Penny Clark says:

This will be my first walk. Very excited to participate! Looking forward to meeting new photog friends!

  7. Ruth Peterson says:

Thank you…this looks like a lot of fun!

  8. Encourage others to join us quick. We only have a couple spots left.

  9. Four Day and only one spot left, not bad. Come on lets fill it up tonight.

  10. WOW. We are full. It only took 5 days to fill up this time. Last year it took almost two weeks to fill up. Thanks for joining us. I hope it will be a great experience for you.

Last year we took 8 off the waiting list to walk due to cancellations. So if you would still like to join us, sign up for the waiting list and maybe others not being able to join us, will make it possible for you to walk. Nothing guaranteed you understand.

  11. Darien says:

    Hi Michael,

I’m excited you are leading the walk again this year, I had a blast last year. I am trying to sign up for the waitlist but can’t tell if it’s working…is there something I’m missing or have I signed up five times without realizing it? :)

  12. Keith Lewis says:

    Hello Michael,

Are you able to tell us how many are currently on the wait list. I was excited and ready to go on my first walk and then saw it was full. I just want to get an idea of the odds that I will make it on.

    Thanks!

  13. Don Weaver says:

Will anyone be doing HDR photography for this photo walk?

  14. Lance Diamond says:

When will the walk list be complete and notifications sent out?

  15. Christopher O'Brien says:

Where can we see photos that other people on our walk submitted? Will you announce the winning photo?

  16. Gail O'Bannon says:

Just repeating what Christopher posted as there are several people who are tweeting and have posted links to their winning photos from their WWPW and the other photos that were submitted in their group.
