About This Walk

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING WALK DESCRIPTION:

All spots are taken, can I still come?

Sure you can! You won’t be able to participate in the photo contest, but you will still be able to walk with us, meet new friends and simply have a lot of fun for a few hours. Also… there are always some that drop of the list, so please add yourself to the waiting-list.

Welcome to the Worldwide Photowalk (Copenhagen Parks and City Walk 2018)

This year we will be walking through s couple of the many parks in Copenhagen, through inner city streets and squares and will finish our walk on Kongens Nytorv, where those interested will get a cup of coffee (or tea) before heading back home to go through the many photographs we’ve shot on the way.

The walk this year is scheduled to take about three hours in all. Here’s the map I’ve prepared of the route we will walk:

Map of this years route

This years walk will take us through two of the parks around Øster Voldgade (Østre Anlæg and Kings Garden). From Rosenborggade we will be heading down towards Kultorvet, past Rundetårn, make a quick trip down Pilestræde, make a turn back towards Købmagergade by way of Kronprinsgade to a small passageway from Valkendorfsgade  through Kringlegangen to Gråbrødre Torv. From here we will continue by way of Studiestræde to Nytorv and cross Gammeltorv to Magstræde down to Gammel Strand. We will follow the canal to Holmens Kirke, staying with canal (Havnegade) to Nyhavn and then we finish at Kongens Nytorv, the official part of the walk is ending here, but anyone interested can then continue for a cup of coffee (or any other type beverage they serve) at Espresso House on Kongens Nytorv.

You get lost from the group or fall behind, what should you do:

Previous years we have “lost” quite a few walkers along the way. Mostly because some strayed from the route or stayed for too long in one place falling behind.

Should this happen to you – please keep the following in mind: It is better to “skip ahead” rather than try to catch up following the route on the map. Check the times at the different meeting points, and skip directly to the next meeting point so you can be there in time. If you try and follow the route and catching up, it is less likely you will succeed.

This year we will do a live update on Google Maps, so you can always find out where exactly I am on the route. Information regarding this will be shared on group on Facebook so please join us there to stay updated.

If you get lost from the group, please feel free to call me on my cell: +45 3145 1433

I will be handing out maps for the walk at the beginning of the walk – please keep this map until the walk is over.

Is there a place where we stay connected before and after the walk.

There is, and you are MORE than welcome to join us. Go to our group on Facebook where we share images from our walk, chat and have fun.
