Photo Walk Description

Historic Dowtown Cheyenne will be the theme this year. We are trying to arrange access to some of the most storied locations in Cheyenne. We’ll be shooting during the farmers market and the gunslingers will be firing up at noon.
Additionally, we’ve learned that there will be “Zombie Fest,” a video game tournament and book signing at the Depot that day.
Keep checking back for more details.

Want a cool T-shirt to sport at the event, follow this link: http://www.cafepress.com/townerjones/7948472. All profits from the shirts go to Springs of Hope Kenya Orphanage.

When we’re done, we’re going to meet up in the back room of Shadows for some grub and to show off our best shots. Participants should plan to purchase their own meal.

I have created a Flickr group for our walk. I’ll invite each of you as we closer to the date. It is public, but you may only post by invite.
    Cheers,
    J

Hi I attended the photo walk in Cheyenne. I was one of the gals from Kimball. but am having trouble logging on and finding where I submit my photo for the contest

  2. J O'Brien says:

I just heard that the Gunslingers are not actually going to be out that day. Sorry about the misinformation. One of the community calendars showed them out that day. But we’ll still have plenty to shoot.

  3. J O'Brien says:

I’ve been printing badges, brochures and posters. I’m excited to see all of you next weekend. Chime in and chat!

  4. Mike Curran says:

I just found out the zombie fest won’t start until 2:00pm. Any chance of delaying the start of the walk?

  5. J O'Brien says:

My understanding is the walk is at 2, but there will be events prior to 2. Also, they are getting ready in the Atlas, starting at 10 a.m. And we’ve been granted access to the Atlas.

At this point changing the time could be nightmarish (get it), because too much publicity has already been done.

  6. Wanda Milton says:

Now, I’m confused. Is it at 2pm or 11am? I don’t want to miss anything!

    • J O'Brien says:

Sorry. I didn’t mean to confuse anyone. It is at 11 a.m. The other “Walk” I was referring to is a zombie walk that is taking place Saturday as well. Our walk starts at 11 a.m.

  7. heather oakes says:

I was wondering where at the depot are we meeting. If the farmers market and zombies are there I don’t want to get lost.

    • J O'Brien says:

The area in the depot that I understand I will have a table is right inside the main entry way. I will put up a sign, or signs to help guide folks. We will also be wearing name tags, so if you’re not sure, find someone with a Photo Walk name tag and say hello.

  8. J O'Brien says:

I am so excited to tell you all that we’ve eclipsed 35 people. Tell your friends and family. I am hoping that we’ll get nearer to 50.

I will send links for our flickr group as soon as our sign-up is closed!

  9. J O'Brien says:

The “International” folks have released some dates for us.

We will be able to upload photos for the competition at 11 a.m. (Mountain) Oct. 3.

All photos for the local walk must be uploaded by the end of Oct. 7.

The walk organizers will select a local “winner” by the end of Oct. 10.

International winners will be chosen by Oct. 17.

There is also a People’s Choice competition from Oct. 17 through Oct. 24. Be sure to check it out and vote.

  10. J O'Brien says:

I was hoping I could impose on folks. I have a survey I am asking folks to fill out on survey monkey. It is data for a project I am working on. If you would be so inclined, the address for the survey is: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/J7C3GXM.

    Thank you,
    J

  11. Jim Taylor says:

    I’m looking forward to it.

  12. James Taylor says:

I’m also looking forward to it :) Should be fun to meet photographers from the Cheyenne area. I always seem to be going on walks down in Fort Collins and never up hear.

  13. Ron Bruellisauer says:

Will the walk be led or just random?

  14. J O'Brien says:

Sorry I didn’t get you message in time Ron. Taylors, I tried to notify the club earlier, but couldn’t find contact information on the site.

  15. J O'Brien says:

Someone loaned a memory card to our gracious host Glen Garrett. He has given it to me. Please contact me to claim your memory card.

  16. Wanda Milton says:

How many photos may we enter?

  17. Roseann Ritter says:

I have a few shots of other walkers and I know you wanted some — shall I post them on our flickr page or send them directly to you?

  18. Roseann Ritter says:

Is there a way to view the photos my fellow walker’s submitted for the contest?

  19. Wanda Milton says:

Yes, I’m anxious to see everyone’s photos!

  20. J O'Brien says:

The judges met this morning and selected the winning image as well as five honorable mention images. The judging was difficult, as several great images were submitted. We will put out a release on the winners.
