Photo Walk Description

We will start out from the Stonewall Street train station and go to the Harvey Gantt Center (great architecture) and I have gotten us permission to photograph at the beautiful park “The Green” which has lots of art and interesting things, there is also St. Peters at the park, then we will go to the Betchler where the mirrored man is, plus the Betchler is an amazing piece of architecture, then you can either go to the Stadium and photograph around there or the Latta Arcade. We will then go to the Epicenter where we will meet up at Wild Wing Cafe to gather together to eat, drink and share our day in photos. We will meet at 9:00 and leave for our walk promptly at 9:30 and end up at Wild Wings at 11:30. I look forward to a great day and any other ideas you might have just let me know. I will be leaving from the Pineville station @ I485 if any of you would like to meet there and ride up together. Just let me know.

    Hi Terie,
Saw the email from the CPMG about the walk and jumped right on it. I figured the list would be full but maybe I could get on a waiting list. I was really pleased when I found out I had made it on the list. I’ve never done anything like this before so I’m a little apprehensive but very excited. Looking forewar to meeting you and participating in the walk.

    Hi Terie,
I think I signed up for this walk but couldn’t find any confirmation. Can you let me know?
    THanks,
    Cindy Cooley

  3. Karen Carnahan says:

Hi Terie, Den is going to tag along (unless he changes his mind, lol!), but won’t submit any photos.

  4. June Wessinger says:

I seem to be on here twice – silly computers! Can you kick one out? Or I will figure something out if not. Thanks for this Terie.

  5. Adam YABES says:

same problem, mistakenly registered twice. How do you take one out?

  6. Leanne Zaras says:

I’m a newbie DSLR user. Looking forward to meeting others that I can learn from!

  7. Gene Millsaps says:

This expedition looks like fun. The “join walk” procedure was awkward for me, as after data entry, the host seemed hung or asleep, then show a “Username already in use” message, in several attempts.

  8. Gene Millsaps says:

The Join procedure worked better when I joined the walk at the Saturday afternoon walk at the Whitewater Center. However, we only had four walkers signed up for a very scenic location!

  9. Gene Millsaps says:

Hopefully, all the Saturday morning walkers are taking note of the emails from leader Terie Christmas Davis, ref.
    – revised meeting site
    – restriction on sale of photos
    – link for posting contest photos

    See you then!

I am going to list all the new info here also
Hi Everyone, I’m excited about meeting you guys and doing our walk together. A couple of things.
1.If it rains we will do the walk on Sunday Oct 2, same time.
    2. Just a heads up from owners of The Green, you are not permitted to sell any photos taken on The Green you can use them only for personal use.
    3. Anyone wanting to meet at the Pineville I-485 Train Station for the 8:30 train please contact me.
    4. The Stonewall station is closed because of falling debris off the Westin Hotel so I am taking no chances so we will stop at the next station which is 3rd street Convention Center.
    5. I am changing our meeting place from the Stonewall Station to the area in front of the Hilton Hotel at the corner of 3rd and College. Since we have 50 photographers signed up we need a bigger place to assemble. If you have any questions please feel free to email me. Remember we meet at 9:00 and we will start the walk promptly at 9:30 a.m. Please be respectful of others and be on time. I am giving you 30 minutes to get there and get to the front of the Hilton before we start at 9:30.
If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me. You can call me at 704-264-9774.
I have contacted Wild Wing Cafe and they are expecting us.

  11. Terie Christmas Davis says:

here is the link for uploading your photos after the event. Be sure to go to the main walk page after the walk if you want to enter the contest. You can only submit one photo (all the rules and contest information will be on the main page).
However on our flickr group you can upload as many photos as you like. I wanted us to have a separate flickr account for our walk so we wouldn’t have to sort through lots of photos to find our fellow walkers photos.
