Photo Walk Description

Hi guys,

Last year we had a long route from Downtown all the way to the Fish Market and back to the Vegetable Market ending at the Magellan’s Cross. This year, lets try something different. :) Same meeting place but more of downtown and our City’s Cultural Heritage. Cebu was nominated as the top ASEAN City of Cultures. So let’s show the world our richness. :)

We start the walk early so that it will not be too hot for us. At the same time, business usually starts early in the downtown area. After which we proceed to our City’s Landmark by walking through Magellan’s Cross all the way to Parian where most of the preserved monuments are there. We end at the Cebu Heritage and have our group photo there. We all love group photos and this will surely take away the tiring walk we had. After, lets all get refreshments at one of Cebu’s known Restaurants, Cafe Elisa. :)

This will be an educational and fun photo walk. So let’s shoot our hearts out, mingle and build comeraderie with other photographers and be proud of our City, CEBU. :)

Prizes awaits for the participants aside from the Scott Kelby Contest. :)

We will have a prize for the prettiest or sexiest photographer, Early Bird Participant and a special award for the best photo of the day, etc. from our sponsors.

    Hi guys,

    Tomorrow is the big day,and you are one of over 1,100 groups who will be taking part in the world’s largest social photography event! Here are some last-minute details and reminders to help ensure a safe and fun photo walk.

    1 . Be Safe. it is a priority for this event. Take care of your things, watch for traffic, be aware of your surroundings, and most of all, keep an eye out for everyone during the walk as well.
    2. Routes. Take note of it in case you get lost or wander too far. As always stay within a few meters with the group.
    3. Hydrate. Bring water, sunblock and any provisions you might need.
    4. Our meeting place will be at McDonald’s Gaisano South. After the walk, we meet again at Cafe Elisa. They will open the place specially for us so we can mingle after the walk.

    After the Photo Walk, you will be able to log on to the Worldwide Photo Walk website, go to your walk page, and submit your best photo from the event to the contest and email to paugotiong@gmail.com (high res jpeg) for better viewing.

    Up for grabs: Scott Kelby’s newest book, Light It. Shoot It. Retouch It., a full Adobe CS5 Suite, Epson R3000 printer, Nik Software Suite, OnOne Software Suite, Westcott Lighting Kit, B&H Gift Card, iPad (32GB), NAPP Membership, Kelby Training Subscription, Full Library of Kelby Books, and Photoshop World Ticket!

    You can also share photos to the Official Worldwide Photo Walk Flickr Group. Photos from events all around the world will be shared here so the entire community can see the global event they we are part of. These photos are not part of the competition, but a great way for everyone to share their experience with the rest of the world.

    Walkers will have until 12:00 noon ElDT October 7th to submit their best photo to the contest.

    More updates!!! We are fortunate enough to be sponsored by our friends :)

    1.Island Souvenirs will be giving 30 I ♥ Cebu Shirts and i guess will be raffled. If you have your own shirt please do wear them for our Group Shot :)
    2. Kodak Royal Pictures c/o Valerie Sy will be giving free 8×12 prints for the top 10 finalist of the Photo Contest and jelly lens which will be raffled to the early birds.
    3. Pixel Pro and PRG Photoshop c/o Peter Go will also be giving out items for special prizes. We will be be awarding the ff:
    The Earliest Bird, The fully loaded Photographer (Fully loaded), The Sexiest Shooter, The Best I ♥ Cebu Photo (photo that makes you proud of Cebu) and of course the Scott Kelby Winning Entry for the group walk.

    Since we have limited shirts, for those who have the I HEART CEBU SHIRTS please wear them too. Raffle will be done on site based on the shirt sizes given. :)

  • OCT1 Photo walk updates

    Hi,

    Welcome to this year’s Worldwide Photo Walk. Just a few reminders to those who have registered especially those who are first timers.

    Since are are meeting early am @ McDonalds please do not be late. Time set is 530am so people can eat breakfast and settled down (meet and greet other photographers. We will have a roll call by 6am before we proceed with the walk.

    The Photo Walk will be tiring so please be healthy and drink lots of fluids to hydrate yourself. :)
    At the same time, please travel light or have your gears secure. Bring camera bags like backpack type or belt system to avoid opportunities from other individuals. Wear rubber shoes or comfortable foot wear. Bring hats and at the same time rain gear like rain sleeves or plastic bags for your camera just in case.

    As of the moment, we are not guaranteed to have sponsored shirts so i suggest that we wear white. if thats ok.

    Lastly, if you read the news some parts of downtown will be closed during weekends so if your planning to bring a car Park them somewhere safe or in USC main area since you might have a hard time looking for one near the area. Also take note that we end in Parian which is a bit far back to the starting Area near Gaisano South.

    Note: The walk is open to all. I have a pending group in addition to the 50 participant to give way to others but as of now it is still not approved. So for those who are still interested they can join I put up a facebook event page for this too. Please participate there.

    Thank you for taking interest in joining this walk. Unfortunately, in less than 48 hours the walk is full. I have applied for an additional group and hopefully if they read this approves the request so we can accommodate you all.

    Nonetheless, if you are interested i would be more welcome to have you join the walk. Although, your photos will not be eligible for the Scott Kelby photo walk contest.

    Yes. It got full in less than 48hrs. i have a pending additional group. Hope it gets approved. Sure. you can still join. Its FREE. You do not need to pay FEES. :)
