Photo Walk Description
I have led two urban Kelby Photowalks in Florida, but will be shooting at Road Atlanta this year, and can’t lead my typical city style walk. So I thought I’d see if any photographers who will be at the track that day want to meet and participate in the fun of the World Wide Photo Walk.
I believe pictures from the event will be fairly unique among the entries to the WWPW contest, so our group may have a better shot at winning some of the prises!
Given that you are planning to be at the track, it is a safe bet that you are interested in shooting race cars and the people around the event, so we will have a group of like minded people!
Looking forward to the race. Do we need to get tickets in advance? Besides gear any suggestions on things to bring?
I believe tickets will be available race day, but you may want to order ahead of time on-line.
In addition to cameras and lenses, I suggest some water and a hat! I usually have a garbage bag in my camera kit, in case of rain, or if I want to set my bag down where ground is wet or a bit muddy. Cheap insurance… I usually shoot with a 70-200 and a 300.
Thanks Charles. So will the majority of the shooting best from turn 10? What time does the race end? isn’t it like 10 hours?
This will be my fifth Petite LaMans. So if I can help in any way I would be more than glad to do so. I know all the great locations. Also I know any details you may need for the race,track, or anything else. I will be particapating this year in the photo walk and I can’t wait.. And Yes Michael the race is 10 hours or 1,000 miles it last till about 9.00 pm and the night shots are fun and really awesome. Tickets may be a little pricey unless you plan to be there the whole day I think they are $70 for sat only and then there is parking.. You can find out more at the track website.

My trip to georgia for the race has been cancelled, and I will be unable to be there to lead! I hate this last minute type of problem.
Lamar, can you fill in for me? There are only 5 registered so it should not take a lot of time.
I have asked if there is a process with the SKWWPW to allow another person to assume leader role. Or we can just keep things as they are, I’ll be listed as leader and you (Lamar) can still be able to enter the competition. Please email me at photog@chowse.com

For the love of G*d…did I miss the upload deadline? UGH UGH UGH! Can I still submit my photos, or am I outta luck till next year?
Michael, sadly, yes the deadline was the 10th… which is an extension from the earlier deadline.
Hope you can participate in a walk next year, and in the meantime, please upload some shots to Flickr so we can see them!
