Photo Walk Description
Start and end will be the Southern Pacific train station at the corner of Sumner and Baker. The train station is still being used by Southern Pacific and I hope to get us all inside! Then we can wander over to the Basque restaurants along Sumner, 21st and 19th streets. Then back across Baker to the Pyrenees Bakery, the Bakersfield Rescue Mission and Bakersfield Fire Department #2. Finally back to the train station for possible exploration of the train yard and sunset pics.
As always, this will be a walk so comfortable shoes are in order as is water to keep you going. Many of the places we will be visiting may be inside so a tripod and/or flash would be useful.
The train station is off limits to everyone including us!
That does not mean we can’t shoot whatever we see outside the chain link and we do have to keep off the train tracks. But everywhere else seems to be no problem.
3 days and counting – batteries need to be charged and lenses cleaned – see you all there!
