Photo Walk Description
Note: The Official Worldwide Photo Walk Date is July 24th, 2010
My name is Peter Talke. I have a website www.talkephotography.com and a recently voted “World’s Top Travel Photo Blog’s for HDR” called Places 2 Explore (www.places2explore.wordpress.com). I have been published in magazine, books and web sites. I also supply a few of my HDR’s to Getty Images. I shoot primarily in HDR and also in Infrared. I will gladly sit down with anyone that is interested in any of these styles and give you some tips! I do not plan to shoot much, just tag along and assist!
We will meet up at the Capitol Building at 6:30 PM…we can break up into groups if nec. At the Capitol we can shoot the exterior, rotunda, interior, basement, grounds, we can walk to the TX State History Museum for external shots, then back down to Congress Avenue to 6th street. I’ll work on trying to get a special location shot going as well!

Was thinking of driving up from San Antonio to walk with you. I did the walk here in SA last year, so I would like a little variety…I don’t know that area at all and was wondering if tripods were allowed and if they are if YOU thought that it would be a good idea to bring along?

For folks still trying to get involved in a walk in Austin, be aware that there is a second walk taking place on Saturday morning. It still has plenty of space (35 places as I type) so you may like to consider joining us on that one if you are available. This one will be taking place on the south shore of Lady Bird Lake and the area around Long Center and the Palmer Event Center. I just learned about the wwpw today and signed up to get on the waiting list. I look forward to the photo walk. I’ll be coming in from Baton Rouge.
I am registered for the walk but now cannot participate. I’m happy to give up my spot but can’t figure out how to do it????

Beth has to sign in at the top of the page then when the walk is loaded above the map there is a button that says “leave this walk”. There are six people on the waiting list and I it has the members numbered in order of priority… login to see the attendee list and the waiting list.
Yes, I was thinking it wouldn’t work out quite right to not be able to officially sign up and couldn’t see how many were on the wait list. I’ll go sign up for one of the other ones.

I got an email confirmation that I had successfully registered for this walk, however, when I log-in it does not have me registered. I just drove from Plano and am absolutely NOT up to making it tonight. If I was indeed registered, please contact a stand-by. I get no link to “Leave This Walk” …
