    Hi Chita,
I live in Ann arbor, so if you need any planning help, just let me know. I’m the Big Ypsilanti football coach from MacGroup. I haven’t been able to attend lately, but I stay up on the discussions.

  2. Chita Hunter says:

    Hi All,
Here is the URL to view my Photowalk of last year at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens.

  3. Maurice Sanders says:

Hello.. I believe I have registered for the Ann Arbor Walk..

  4. Gordon Totty says:

Chita, thanks for inviting me! I am planning to attend. Am I now “registered,” or do I have to do something else? First time for me, so I’m unsure of procedures.

    Gordon

  5. Debbie says:

    Chita,

This looks like fun and I can’t wait. Do I need to do anything else, I’m in the same boat as Gordon I have never been before and am unsure of the next step.
    Thanks

    Debbie

  6. Robert Oestreich says:

Looks like a fun way to start the day.

  7. Kathryn Novak says:

Hi again, I think I am registered. Please confirm. Thanks! It will be good to see you.

  8. William Riegel says:

    Hello Chita,
I received two duplicate “you are registered” responses. I didn’t want to take up two slots so I thought I would let you know.
    William Riegel

  9. Chita Hunter says:

    Hi There!!!
Glad to see you on my list. And…
You are only taking up one slot. :-)

  10. Louis Miller says:

    Chita,
I registered yesterday and not sure if I was successful. Could let me know if I’m registered?

    Thanks
    Lou

  11. Chita Hunter says:

    Hi There Lou!
Sorry for the delay, been away at tennis tournaments. :)
    Yes, you are registered.

  12. Chris Cavaliere says:

  14. Chita Hunter says:

    Hi All,
Here is a map of the Nichols Arboretum site:
    http://www.lsa.umich.edu/mbg/files/ArbGuide.pdf

I would like everyone to meet at the 1610 Washington Heights entrance to the Nichols Arboretum, by 9:45am, so that we may take a group shot.

Washington Heights is a one-way street. There is a parking lot with adequate parking for us on the right as you drive toward the 1610 Washington Heights address, a quaint little house. No permit is needed to park here on weekends. For reference, the Ronald McDonald House is also on this same street.

    Chita

  15. Chita Hunter says:

I’d like to suggest that after the walk, we meet at:
    Moonwinks Cafe, 5151 Plymouth Rd.
    Great food for any palette.
It’s about 5 miles from the Nichols Arboretum
    http://www.moonwinkscafe.com/

    Unless there are other suggestions.
Charles, you live in Ann Arbor, any suggestions to offer?

  16. Nikoletta Kanakis says:

Hello – I have been trying to decide literally for the past month which walk to join. Alas – I have finally chosen this one. Looking forward to it. This will be my second Photo Walk.

    Cheers

  17. Ron Kroll says:

Hey Chita, I was having trouble entering my info. At the end, it said that Username already exists…. did I actually get signed in with one of my previous attempts. Looking forward to being there…. Ron Kroll

  18. Chita Hunter says:

    Hi Everyone,
    Looking forward to Saturday!
The temperatures are expected to be in the mid 50′s, and sunny, so it should be a great day for taking photos.

Also, the areas directly adjacent to the Nichols Arboretum are teaming with city life. The helicopter sitting next to the hospital as I was looking up from the lower Nichols Arboretum entrance was cool. Thus, feel free to add the direct surrounding areas to your shots.

So far Moonwinks Restaurant is the place to meet after the shoot.

  19. David Laurence says:

I have never done one of these before and I am looking forward to it!

  20. Steve Gonzales says:

    Hi Chita,
This will be my first time going on a photo walk and I’m very excited to be going with your group. How often do these photo walks take place?? I would love to be able to go on more if there is any others throughout the year.

    Thanks,
    Steve Gonzales

  21. Chita Hunter says:

    Hi All,
I’m keeping up with the weather.
You know Michigan, wait 5 minutes and it will change.
Plan B is to have the walk on the following day, Sunday, if we have inclement weather on Saturday.

Now, with that said, let me say this:
    1. As of right now, there is a 40% chance of rain on Saturday.
For me, in Michigan, that means “Don’t cancel plans just yet.”
So we are still scheduled for Saturday.

    2. If it is not raining when our walk starts, but starts to rain during our walk, and deemed that we shouldn’t or can’t continue, then we will automatically reschedule for the following day.
Any images taken by walk participants on either day will be allowed into the contest.

    3. I will be sending emails about the walk up to the very morning of the walk, if necessary, so keep a lookout.

  22. Chita Hunter says:

I don’t think I need to say DRESS Warm!!!

Temp figures to be about 40ยบ
Tomorrow is about the same around this time except sunny.
    Figures. So…

    See you there!

  23. Anmmar says:

an hour driving around and I couldn’t find the place!!!
I hope there is a one tomorrow Sunday.

    • Chita Hunter says:

      Anmmar,
Sorry you couldn’t find the location.
As for Sunday, the rest of us who walked today may not be there to join you,
but if you go to the Nichols Arboretum and take shots between the hours of
10am-11:30am, I’ll allow them into the contest.

  24. Chita Hunter says:

    Hi All,
It got warm just in time for lunch today.
    That’s Michigan for you.
Thank you for braving the cold with me.
And I look forward to seeing your photos.

I’ve created a Flickr page “2011 Scott Kelby Worldwide Photowalk Nichols Arboretum” for images our group would like to share.

Good luck to all of you.

  25. Chita Hunter says:

    Hi all,

Hopefully, you’ve had time to look at your images and are trying to decide which one to submit.

Submissions are posted directly to the walk page that you registered on, our Nichols Arboretum page.

Also, please review the Photowalk home page to see the submission and judging schedule.

  26. Chita Hunter says:

You can also add your images to the 4th Annual SK Worldwide Photowalk Flickr group.

  27. Chita Hunter says:

    Hi Everyone,
Time is winding down, you have today and tomorrow to left to decide which photo to submit. Once again, Good luck.

Also, some of you took shots of the two little girls who were on our walk. If you’d like to contact their mom, Mary Ellen, to send her some of the shots or request permission to use shots of her girls, please contact her at:
    sistersphotography@rocketmail.com

  28. Chita Hunter says:

    Hi All,
FYI: The photo upload deadline has been extended to October 13th.
See the main Photowalk web page for the updated schedule.

  29. Chita Hunter says:

    Hi Everyone,
Let me first thank everyone once again for being a part of the 4th Annual Scott Kelby Photowalk: Nichols Arboretum leg. Even in spite of the cold weather, it was a pleasure.

Judging was difficult, it always is.
My panel of judges had a lot of great things to say about each image.
And now that you get to see the images, you’ll understand why.
    These are all great images.

My congratulations to Eric Steed for being selected as “Best Photo for this Location.”
    Eric, good luck going forward.

The People’s Choice Voting is about to start shortly, so please keep a lookout for it and be a part of the voting. I will keep you updated.

Also, if you’d like to suggest a location for next year, send me an email at:
