Photo Walk Description

This is a family oriented Photowalk. Take a few hours for yourself and then meet up with the family to enjoy the park with them and possibly some new friends from the Photowalk. We will be going into the park so either a ticket needs to bought ahead of time OR a season pass will be needed. Please check for black out dates!!!

Disneyland offers an amazing amount of opportunities for all levels of photographers. I have been shooting in the park for over 5 years now at all times of the day and night and it is always different. Bring sunscreen and a hat, the park can get bright and warm. We are going to arrive early to beat the crowds of tourists who tend to sleep in on saturday mornings. There is water available or bring a water bottle of your own. Most of the food stands will take debit/credit cards but some cash is advisable.

Bring a medium zooms lense (18mm to 200mm) and maybe a wide angle lens. Even kit lenses can work really well on this type of walk. During the day, you dont need to have the fast glass with you unless you want to play with depth of field. A Macro lens is always useful in the park as there are many, many details to shoot. A small flash is always useful for fill light so bring one and some spare batteries. The plan is to circle Disneyland park and check out the sites and practice things like shooting portraits in bright sun.

The end of the photowalk will be at the New Orleans French Market Restaurant. The French Market has outside seating in shade and can seat a very large crowd we can mix and talk it up afterwards. It also provides an easy place for family members to find you and keep on going for the rest of the day. I can not suggest strongly enough to stay at the park and wait for it to go dark and take advantage of the park with the lights on.

This is my first photo walk since I arrived in the States, and my first visit to Disneyland, too. I attended last year’s WWPW back in the Philippines. I’m looking forward to having a great experience. Thank you! Happy shooting!
